I swear by my label maker and here's why. Suuuuuure, there's the run-of-the mill label maker ideas like putting your kids' names on their water bottles, but there are lots more clever ways to put that label maker to use! Let's do this:
1. Air Fryer Times & Temperatures
This might be the smartest way we use a label maker in our home! Considering the fact that chicken nuggets are a whole food group around here, I figured it was time to equip everyone in our house with the requisite tools for making the perfect batch of nuggs. Instead of asking me "How long and what temp?" I just stuck a label on the air fryer and we're all instant chefs!
2. WiFI Password & Router info
If you live a home or workplace with multiple routers and/or wifi signals, use a label maker to add that information to each router.
3. Printers & Electronic Crafting Machines
Have you ever tried to print something, only to see 10 different printer options pop-up in the dialogue box? To help solve that problem, I've adhered labels of the printer name directly to the printer. Similarly, if you have an electronic cutting machine like Cricut or Silhouette, you can make a label for the machine name so you aren't guessing about which is which.
4. Cord organization
When you need a phone charger...you NEED a phone charger. What you DON'T need, is to go hunting through a tangled web of cords. Recently, I took that tangled mess and decided to organize it. Best decision ever. I used this photo storage case and separated like cords into each compartment. Then used my label maker to label each one. This took about an hour of my time and was well worth it.
5. Emergency Phone Numbers and Contact Information
Back in the day when everyone had a house phone (remember those!) there was a space on the phone to list important phone numbers. Now that we primarily rely on mobile phones and devices, I'll recreated this format by making labels on the refrigerator listing all the important emergency phone numbers relevant to our family. This is great for babysitters, guests or visiting family who may not have these numbers saved in their phone.
Similarly, I use my label maker to create a "If Lost, Please Contact: ******@yahoo.com" label that goes on important items that I might leave behind. This system worked GREAT for me when I left my cosmetic bag behind on a recent flight.
Oh! And if you're wondering which label maker you should be using...here's my fave! It works with an app on your phone and have lots of customization options! Happy labeling!
