Lindsay Hubbard has moved on. When I sit down to talk to the Summer House star in August, she is a completely different person than she was a year ago, when her engagement to her costar was called off in front of the cameras.

“I am one year past that, and in a completely different era of my life,” she says. “I feel like I’ve been through so many ‘new chapters’ in the past year alone.”

First, there was post-breakup Lindsey, who was “lucky to shower once a day,” she says. Then, there was happily single Lindsey, who opened an AirBnB in Nashville and “started dating Southern country boys.” And now, there is happily-in-a-new-relationship Lindsey, who is pregnant and positively glowing.

The beauty of breakup hair

In the month following her breakup, Lindsey laid low (save for a date with her costars, during which Paige Desorbo predicted she’d be pregnant with the love of her life within a year). But when she finally felt ready to start that first new chapter, the hair salon was one of her first stops.

“My stylist Julius Michael and his husband Arturo put in a whole new set of extensions and I went darker with my hair and I just felt refreshed,” she says. “Really, that’s all it took, because then I started throwing myself out there… [it] helped pick me up and send me on the rest of my journey for this past year.”

Considering how closely hair is linked to identity, it makes sense that a big change can come along with some much-needed fresh start energy—almost like hitting an emotional reset button. And when Lindsey started to feel more like herself again, “I wore less makeup and started going on dates,” she says. “And clearly, it worked.”

Pregnant and glowing

As Lindsay’s journey of reinvention continues, her beauty routine has shifted again to embrace her new mom-to-be era. With the 'Hub Cub' set to arrive in December, Lindsey is glowing in more ways than one.

"Pregnancy just has such a different energy when it comes to beauty," she says. "People tell me I'm glowing, but I don't see it! I think pregnancy comes with its own specific glow, though, and I'm lucky to have gotten that glow."

With Botox and filler off the table ("I have to wait until I'm done breastfeeding," she says), Lindsey is trying "all different sorts of home remedies for wrinkles and firming." One of her forever go-tos, though, is red light therapy, which helps with breakouts, scarring, redness, and wrinkles.

And, of course, bump care has become an important part of her routine. "I use a belly oil from Hatch pretty much daily—my boyfriend applies it every single night, and it's like our thing," she says.

Starting a new chapter

Even though Lindsey is happily embracing her new chapter—with a new relationship, a baby on the way, and a radiant glow—there was still one last piece of her past she needed to close the door on: her wedding dresses. To fully move forward, she knew she had to let them go, which is why she partnered with Kleinfeld’s new "Kleinfeld Again" program, which buys and resells previously owned dresses. In Lindsey's case, all proceeds from the sale will go to The Chick Mission, a non-profit organization focused on critical issues unique to cancer patients including fertility challenges following treatment.

"I bought both of the dresses I planned to wear to my wedding out of love, and just because I wasn't able to wear them doesn't mean that somebody else shouldn't get that chance—they should go to someone deserving to celebrate the ultimate milestone of love," she says. "The dresses were sitting in my closet for almost a year... and being able to donate the proceeds to charity feels like the ultimate win in the end, because it's turning tragedy into good."

As a long-time Summer House fan, I’ve watched Lindsey navigate some of life’s most difficult challenges on-screen. But what struck me most during our conversation was her ability to reinvent herself while staying true to who she is at the core. Her journey—from heartbreak to healing to embracing new love and motherhood—offers a powerful lesson in resilience.

When I ask her what advice she has for those going through similar transitions in their own lives, her response is simple but profound. "Do what makes you happy and cut out all the noise," she says. "That goes for whether you’re planning a wedding, or feeling like you want to be single and wild, or you want to date something again, whether you’re pregnant—do what works best for you. A lot of people have a lot of opinions, but nothing matters except for your own happiness."

In a world where everyone seems to have an opinion on how you should live your life, Lindsey's message is a reminder that true beauty—and happiness—comes from within.
