The ‘Stranger Things’ Kids & James Corden Join for a Cool Serving of Motown
Before the Stranger Things kids became the wee kings of Netflix, they were in the coolest Motown cover band with none other than James Corden.
OK, not really, but Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas) and Noah Schnapp (Will) did join Corden for an epic Behind the Music-style sketch on last night’s Late Late Show and pretended they were.
In the hilarious skit, the Stranger Things crew explains they formed a group called the Upside Downs after meeting in school. (Corden was held back a few grades...) They lived for the music until a Netflix exec scouted them and they all landed spots on Stranger Things…except for Corden.
In the wake of their success, the boys and Corden decided to reunite for one last performance and delivered an impressive medley of classics like “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5 and “I’ll Be There” by the Four Tops. All of the teens have great pipes, but Matarazzo and McLaughlin are the clear standouts. Not a single voice crack!
Settle in for a laugh and let the prize gems of Hawkins Middle School dazzle you with the sweet sounds of Motown. You’ll be humming along by the end of the video.
