This Drone Footage Of China's Spring Blossom Is Stunning
Few sights are as uplifting as pastel pink blossom, and the annual display of spring blooms in south-west China has to be one of the most spectacular.
At this time of year - late March to early April - hundreds of thousands of tourists visit the Guizhou Province to take in the apricot, cherry, and azalea blossoms at their peak.
According to local media, the garden in Pingba County is home to more than 500,000 cherry trees. This incredible drone footage, published by the BBC, highlights the natural wonder at its very best.
Many communities across China and Japan are holding festivals to welcome the amazing vision. As the bright-hued petals are only at their best for a few weeks, cherry blossom is said to represent both the fragility and the beauty of life.
To celebrate the first signs of spring, here are some more stunning images from across China (no flights needed).
