MANITOWOC – It’s just about time for one of the lakeshore’s biggest and most popular summer events — SubFest.

Join Wisconsin Maritime Museum, 75 Maritime Drive, July 4-7 for the annual celebration.

This year’s festivities include the following:

  • A July 4 parade.

  • Live music performances throughout the day July 4, featuring Chicago Mule, Make It A Double and Rising Phoenix.

  • Food from a variety of vendors and a beverage tent.

  • Tolling of the Boats ceremony at 9 a.m. July 5 to honor those who died while serving aboard U.S. Navy submarines.

  • Historical presentations and programs telling the story of the area’s maritime heritage.

  • Kid-friendly activities.

  • Self-guided submarine tours all weekend to explore the USS Cobia and learn about its history.

Product and craft vendors will be in the Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA lot (205 Maritime Drive) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 4. Live music will break at 9:30 p.m. July 4 for the city's fireworks display.

Entry cost into the Maritime Museum will be $5 all day. Veterans, retired military members and active military will have free admission for the entire holiday weekend.

Sub Pub, the museum’s rooftop bar, will be open July 3-7. There, visitors can take in views of Manitowoc and Lake Michigan while sipping beverages.
