Suitor Threatens to Quit ‘The Bachelorette’ Amid Charity Kiss Controversy

Flamboyant The Bachelorette contestant Brayden rocked the house by threatening to quit the show over Charity Lawson’s record-setting kiss with love rival Joey.

On Monday night’s second episode of Season 20, Brayden was outraged when he heard that during a group date he didn’t attend, other guys were forced to watch Charity and Joey complete the longest kiss in Bachelor franchise history.

The beauty chose Joey, a tennis pro, for the honor after all the men answered questions about their kissing style from former Bachelorettes Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey.

Charity and Joey smooched for an amazing 4 minutes and 25 seconds as the other jealous dudes looked on.

When Brayden, 24, heard what went down, he went ballistic.

“They were disrespected. I am going to pack my bags,” the hunky travel nurse fumed. He also told some guys that the move was “classless.”

Brayden decided to confront Charity, 27, over kissing Joey in front of the others. “Depending on what she says, I’m going to be ready to leave,” he vowed.

He told her, “I had a lot of doubt in your character to some degree. When I heard what happened, I felt so bad for those guys...I was just like, how can I be here? I’m going to be honest with you. I was ready to run away.”

Charity was glad he’d expressed his feelings and explained that she was acknowledging Joey and “making sure he’s feeling good but then it’s like, I have all these other people, too. It was not coming from like a malicious place.”

Brayden was happy they’d hashed things out.

“Tell me everything,” she said. “Tell me how you’re feeling.”

The stunning child and family therapist told the cameras, “I appreciated his honesty. He doesn’t hold back with me, which is nice.”

However, later, Charity was shocked when Adrian told her Brayden had actually branded her “classless” because of the record-setting kiss in front of the other men.

She was so upset that she left the pre-rose ceremony barbecue early.

But when it was time to hand out roses, Charity gave Brayden one, sending home five other suitors instead.

During The Bachelorette premiere last week, Charity’s brother Nehemiah Lawson warned her that Brayden seemed arrogant. But, as she told Parade.com, she gave him her first impression rose anyway because their chemistry was strong.

On episode two, Brayden also stood out by wearing big pairs of earrings in every scene. In addition, he showed up in a print scarf and red velvet shirt, telling host Jesse Palmer about his style, “I just try to mix things up.”

Fans made fun of his fashion on Twitter, with one user, Lizzie, writing, “Brayden looks like he dressed up as my 2012 Pinterest board for Halloween.”

But his bold attitude and clothes aren’t stopping him yet! A preview for next Monday’s The Bachelorette revealed that Brayden will share a one-on-one date with Charity in San Diego’s Petco Park.
