Summer farmers markets in Pueblo: Hours, dates, locations to get fresh food and more

Pueblo residents will have ample opportunity to enjoy the creations of local artists, businesses and food producers with this summer's slate of farmer's markets.

With the help of organizations like the Eastside Action Support Team and Rocky Mountain SER Empowerment Center, the Pueblo Farmer's Market will have two locations this year. Along with continuing its presence in Mineral Palace Park, 1500 N. Santa Fe Ave., the Pueblo Farmer's Market will host its first event on the East Side this July.

The summer of 2024 also marks the return of the Pueblo West Summer Market being put on through a partnership between the Pueblo West Metropolitan District and the Pueblo West Chamber of Commerce. Here is a rundown of important dates and things to expect this farmer's market season in Pueblo County.

Pueblo West Summer Market comes to Civic Center Park on June 22

Civic Center Park in Pueblo West, 61 E. Civic Center Plaza, will be the place to be on Saturday mornings for those who love baked goods, jewelry, food trucks crafts, tote bags and more.

Between June 22 and Aug. 10, the Pueblo West Summer Market will pop up at Civic Center Park every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Civic Center Park had been home to previous summer market events but none were held in Pueblo West last year, coordinator Terri Cook told the Chieftain.

"There will be many locally sourced handcrafted treasures to discover and tasty vendors to try," according to a Facebook page for the market. "Whether you're a longtime resident or just passing through, attending the Pueblo West Summer Market is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of our community while supporting talented artisans and small businesses"

Children's Entrepreneur Market event on June 28 to kick off market season in Mineral Palace Park

Children's Entrepreneur Market is a national program geared toward teaching kids leadership and entrepreneurial skills through operation of farmer's market booths. The Pueblo's Farmer's Market will host their second annual Children's Entrepreneur Market in Mineral Palace Park on June 28 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Mineral Palace Park also will be the site of Pueblo Farmer's Market events every Friday starting on July 5 and continuing until October 11. The Pueblo Farmer's Market in Mineral Palace Park will be open from 7:30 a.m. to noon between July 5 and Aug. 30. Starting with Sept. 6, the market will open at 8 a.m.

Visitors can expect to find products from numerous cottage food producers, farmers and craft vendors at the Pueblo Farmer's Market. Vendors listed on the Pueblo Farmer's Market website Confection Connection, The Main Squeeze and Angel's Bakehouse, among many others.

Eastside Farmer's Market will be hosted at the site of former elementary school

While the Pueblo Farmer's Market will set up shop in Mineral Palace Park on Fridays, Saturdays will be on the East Side at the former Spann Elementary School.

The former elementary school site was acquired by RMSER in 2022 and will be home to the Pueblo Farmer's Market on Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. between July 13 and Oct. 12. Brandi Adakai, community director of RMSER in Pueblo, told the Chieftain that there also are efforts to have a year-round Eastside Farmer's Market.

"We are looking into doing something to be able to keep the farmer's market going year-round," she said. "Then eventually, we are going to build a grocery store. We hope to break grounds by 2026 at that East Side location."
