Surf Fights, Drop-ins, and Complete Lack of Etiquette at Snapper Rocks (Video)

Snapper Rocks, for lack of a better term, is a sh*tshow.

The Gold Coast, Australia surf spot is damn-near perfect when it’s on. And with that perfection comes crowds. It’s pure insanity with drop-ins, collisions, and fights.

And this next edit highlights some of that insanity.

In the video above, surf filmer Lionel Albino chronicles that craziness at the Superbank, along with the crazy amount of surf rage that came along with it.

Captioning the vid, Albino wrote:

"Snapper Rocks… The strongest survive on this beach in Australia, there are no rules and fights are the order of the day in the water… The #1 beach in violence, drop in, no respect and fights in the world."

It’s not the first time we’ve seen such lack of surf etiquette at Snapper Rocks. A few months ago, we saw a similar video from filmer Seb Chadwick:

A previous video shows a series of swells from earlier this year, and the altercations that came along with it. Chadwick narrated:

“Welcome to the Superbank, a stretch of sand at the bottom of Queensland that is the training ground for some of Australia’s best male and female surfers.

“Hit with big cyclone swells in December through February, its March to May that sees constant swell that brings the Superbank to life for days at a time.

“This year, we were blessed with an incredibly good amount of swell leading up to the Gold Coast Pro.

“As the swell turned on, the pros turned up.

“If you weren’t a high-level surfer, then getting a wave wasn’t going to be easy.

“By the end of April, there was a rolling sandbar from Snapper all the way down to Greenmount, with insane barrels running all the way through.

“However, in all my years of filming, I have never seen so much surf rage and such deliberate drop-ins.
