The baggy jeans, the sweatpants tucked into tube socks, the big jackets over bigger pants. In a word of hyper-polished celebs and influencers, I just love Katie Holmes’ wonderfully weird street style.

Don’t get me wrong, the girl can dress when the occasion calls for it. But when it comes to running out for groceries or a cup of coffee, Holmes says she doesn’t put too much thought into it: “It’s not my job.” And in super visible New York City, she’s photographed all the time, often re-wearing surprisingly affordable pieces, like her beloved $100 Sambas.

We scoured a few months of Holmes’ raw street looks and found five items under $200 that the A-lister wears from brands like BaubleBar, Alo, Reformation, and Madewell. Add these fall finds to your closet — we think you’ll reach for them just as often as Holmes.

BaubleBar Juno Rose Quartz Necklace, $31 in Cart

The most affordable piece on our list is further discounted right now: Baublebar is having a Labor Day sale that includes 20 percent off select necklaces, and the Juno Rose Quartz pendant Holmes has worn is included in the deal.

The brand told us it’s a best-selling style that’s sold out five times since it launched in January 2023 — so you may want to pick it up while it’s still in stock.

Holmes layered the pendant necklace with two other BaubleBar styles, the Mini-Hera Necklace and the Clio 18K Gold Necklace (both are marked down from $88 to $70 during the sale). She completed the look with a slightly cropped classic white tee, cream cardigan, black high-rise straight-leg jeans, and simple black ballet flats.

We can’t count the number of times we’ve seen Holmes in these sweatpants from Alo. She likes them so much that she owns them in three colors: white (just restocked!), heather gray, and a bright green that’s no longer available.

While Holmes often wears her sweatpants with tanks and tees, we like her unexpected choice of an oversized button-up. This Amazon Essentials top has a similar look, and it’s on sale for less than $30.

Adidas Samba Sneakers

Adidas Sambas have become popular with a lot of celebs in the last few years, but no one gets their cost-per-wear from the $100 sneaker like Holmes. She often wears them with her Alo sweatpants, but also with jeans and cargo pants.

This shot of her is quintessential Katie: Totally relaxed in sweats and sneakers with sleek accessories (including that Madewell bag!) that give the outfit its New York City cool.

Reformation Wilder High Rise Wide Leg Jeans

Bear with us on this one. Holmes’ dress-over-jeans look for the 2022 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball was divisive, yes. But under that mini tube dress was a very good pair of jeans: The Wilder High Rise Wide Leg style from Reformation. The brand is having one of its very rare sales right now, and select washes are marked down to $84 — but sizes are going fast.

The jeans are fitted through the waist, hips, and thigh with a wide leg and are made from non-stretch cotton. They have a 33-inch inseam that Holmes took a pair of scissors to for the red carpet, but you don’t need to: Reformation offers free alterations.

Madewell The Essential Bucket Tote

Last, but certainly not least, is the bucket tote Holmes wears nearly as often as the Sambas (and frequently together!). Its pared-down style and rich-looking leather scream “quiet luxury,” and I personally thought it was a four-figure bag from a brand like The Row. Surprise, surprise, it’s from Madewell and costs under $200.

According to the brand, the Essential Bucket Tote is sized to hold up to a 15-inch laptop plus a water bottle. It has a magnetic closure (genius) and an adjustable strap with an interior pocket to keep your keys and phone at hand. Holmes has the chocolate raisin color, but it also comes in black and brown leather, as well as navy suede.

Thank you, Katie Holmes, for parading the streets in your wonderful and sometimes weird outfits — and for including so many pieces from accessible brands so we can copy and paste your looks.
