Sushi, tacos and Nashville hot chicken: 45 new restaurants are now open in metro Phoenix
Over 40 new restaurants recently opened in metro Phoenix, including a new downtown Phoenix dive bar, a hot pot restaurant from the owners of BoSa Donuts and a grab-and-go sister cafe to a popular Tempe tearoom.
Some of the most highly-anticipated openings include a coffee shop from the owners of Tacos Chiwas and Cocina Chiwas, an Italian market in Scottsdale and a cocktail lounge from a Food Network chef. Other exciting openings include an expansion of a family-owned Mexican restaurant and a restaurant and entertainment venue in Old Town Scottsdale with ice curling and axe throwing in addition to upscale eats.
Here are 45 new restaurants to try in metro Phoenix.
Adobe Bar & Grill
Adobe Bar & Grill is now open at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club. The restaurant is open to the public and features a piano bar and a golf simulator. Menu highlights include a wagyu burger, grilled tomahawk pork chop and garden enchiladas.

Aruma
Aruma, a new coffee shop from the owners of Cocina Chiwas and Tacos Chiwas, soft opened next to Cocina Chiwas at Culdesac Tempe. Aside from coffee, the cafe offers Mexican drinks and treats like aguas frescas, horchata and pastries from a local panaderia.

Avasa
Avasa Pan Asian Cuisine is now open in the former Mac's Tap & Broiler space near Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe, serving dishes influenced by Chinese, Indian, Thai and Vietnamese cuisines. Menu highlights include paneer, vegetable spring rolls, Andhra chicken, Rayalaseema mutton fry and egg biryani.

Brunch House Arrowhead
An upscale brunch restaurant is now open in Glendale. Some exciting menu items include a French toast brunch sandwich, red velvet chicken sliders, steak and eggs, seafood grilled cheese, deep-fried deviled eggs and a doughnut smash burger. Drinks options include cocktails and shots plus mimosa, margarita and espresso flights.

BoSa Kobe Hot Pot
The owners of BoSa Donuts launched a brand-new sister restaurant, BoSa Kobe Hot Pot, in downtown Tempe. The hot pot concept offers a bowl of simmering broth delivered to your table alongside an array of raw ingredients including various meats and vegetables to be cooked in the broth.

Catalyst Crafted Ales
Tempe-based Catalyst Crafted Ales soft-opened its second location in Mesa. The new tasting room started with 10 beers on tap but a post on Instagram promises guests "many more to come."

Cha Yen Pho & Boba
Cha Yen Pho & Boba is a new family-owned restaurant in Phoenix offering pho, rice vermicelli, fried rice and stir-fry dishes. The drinks menu includes Vietnamese coffee, smoothies and fruit and milk teas with boba.

Chill Kopi
Chill Kopi is a new coffee shop located inside the Palette Collective Suites at the Pavilions at Talking Stick. It offers an iced coffee flight with four lattes and four macarons, as well as other Indonesian coffee drinks and snacks.

Cielito Rosa Bakery & Cafe
Cielito Rosa is a new Latina-owned bakery and cafe in Mesa. The cafe is decorated in shades of pink with flowers and Instagrammable neon lights covering every corner. Cielito Rosa serves pastries like macarons, mini donuts, and conchas, plus personalized cakes and cookies available to preorder. The drinks menu includes coffees, shakes and aguas frescas.

Cinnaholic
Cinnaholic, a bakery chain offering customizable cinnamon rolls, opened a new location near Queen Creek. Create your own cinnamon roll or choose from the menu including strawberry shortbread, caramel apple pie, very berry and campfire s'mores.

Corso Italia Restaurant & Market
The highly-anticipated, Eataly-inspired restaurant and market Corso Italia is finally open in Scottsdale. The restaurant menu includes homemade fresh pastas, shrimp and scallop appetizers, prime steaks and chops. The market offers cured meats and cheeses, cold cuts, olives, spreads and condiments.

The Crepe Club
The Crepe Club opened its newest location at ASU’s MIX center in downtown Mesa. The restaurant specializes in its namesake crepes but also offers other French desserts and dishes, such as quiches and croissant sandwiches.

Curry N Crust

Dog Haus
After closing in 2023, Dog Haus is once again open at CityScape in downtown Phoenix under new ownership. The restaurant specializes in Haus dogs such as the Chili Idol topped with Haus chili, cheddar cheese, sauce and onions, or the Downtown topped with smoked bacon, caramelized onions, pickled peppers, mayo, mustard and ketchup. Drink Me! Tea & Treats
Drink Me! Tea Room opened a sister retail shop right next to its original location in Tempe. While the main tea room requires reservations to book a themed tea party experience, Drink Me! Tea & Treats sells the same gluten-free and plant-based teas and pastries in a more relaxed grab-and-go setting.

DTC Sports Grille
DTC Sports Grille opened its second location in Tempe, offering another new spot to watch sports games and enjoy a beer or cocktail. Graze Craze
A new location of Graze Craze, a takeaway charcuterie board concept that also does catering, is now open in north Phoenix. The quickly expanding franchise is set to open another location in northeast Phoenix in the coming months.

Hanai Coffee and Cocktails
Hanai Coffee and Cocktails, a coffee shop supporting children in the foster care system, recently opened its second location at Peoria City Hall. Kaleidoscope Juice

A new family-owned Korean restaurant is now open in north Phoenix. Nami’s specialty dishes are Chuncheon-style dakgalbi, bulgogi and galbi. They also offer sashimi and sushi rolls with purple rice.

Nashville Hot Chicken

Oliver's Modern American
Oliver’s Modern American opened in the historic Scottsdale building that once was the country’s only Polynesian-themed Dairy Queen. The new restaurant is the latest concept from the owners of The Eleanor and Fate Brewing and offers chicken skewers, roasted vegetable flatbread, rajas fettucine, coconut lime scallops and a bleu cheese burger.

Over Easy

Parlor Doughnuts

Portillo's
Portillo's Chicago-style hot dog restaurant held a grand opening and ribbon-cutting celebration in early May for its new location at the Village at Prasada development in Surprise. The fast-casual restaurant offers indoor and patio seating plus a double-lane drive-thru. Aside from the signature hot dogs, Portillo's also offers char-broiled burgers, chicken, beef and sausage sandwiches.

Tempe pub Boulders on Broadway has rebranded as SaltFire Brewing Tap House. SaltFire Brewing is a Utah-based brewing company making its Arizona debut in Tempe. The rebranded taproom also features a new menu of pizza, burgers, pastas and more alongside plenty of beers.

A new location of sneakybird "Never Ever Fried" chicken is now open at the Verde Cooley Station in Gilbert. Taco Chelo
Phoenix Mexican restaurant Taco Chelo opened its second location on May 30 in downtown Tempe. Taco Chelo offers 9 taco options which are vegetables, fish, carnitas, carne asada, beef barbacoa, costra, chicken, Sonoran and al pastor. Some other menu highlights include "The Flamingo," crispy rolled tacos stuffed with cheese and roasted peppers and a chorizo torta. The restaurant also offers cocktails and draft beers.

Taqueria Factory and Frutilandia
Another dual location of Taqueria Factory and Frutilandia is now open in Mesa. Taqueria Factory offers tacos, quesabirrias, burritos and birria consome and ramen. Tell Your Friends
Tell Your Friends, the long-awaited cocktail lounge from Food Network celebrity chef Beau MacMillan of Cala is now open beneath The Americano. The Gatsby-esque, speakeasy-inspired cocktail bar offers live music and upscale bar bites, including Korean fried chicken, fire-roasted oysters, vodka-cured salmon and potato pizza and caviar d'Aquitaine Ossetra. Cocktail options include the Flapper Fizz made with vodka, apple, vanilla, amaro, lemon and champagne and the Hops To The Beat made with tequila, citra hops, serrano, pineapple, lime and salt.

Tesota
Tesota is now open in the former Southern Rail space next to the Changing Hands Bookstore in Phoenix. The menu focuses on globally-inspired comfort food such as chef-driven burgers and sandwiches, pizzettas, pasta and noodle dishes, and mains, including steaks, ahi tuna poke, wild salmon and pork cutlets. They also have a large selection of gluten-free options.

Tiki Star
A new tiki bar and restaurant is now open at Park West in Peoria. The lunch and dinner menu includes sandwiches, tacos, sliders and entrees such as macadamia crusted mahi, garlic noodles and shrimp, spam fried rice and Kalua pork mac and cheese. Signature cocktails include the shareable Scorpion made with gin, rum, brandy, orgeat, lime and orange juice and demerara syrup or the Kakamora made with Kula toasted coconut rum, Kamora coffee liqueur, cold brew, demerara syrup and cinnamon.
