Sep. 3—Sutton's Bakery has established regular open hours.

The bakery opened in July and was essentially open when it was open.

But with a Clovis MainStreet ribbon cutting Aug. 28, the bakery at 515 Main St., downtown Clovis, will be open Wednesday through Friday, from 7 a.m. until sold out. That's according to a Facebook post by Sutton's Bakery.

"My inspiration for this is when I started baking it was a change in my life that felt like I had a sense of direction and enjoyment," owner Nick Dominguez said in an earlier article in The News.

Dominguez said more inspiration came from Sutton's owner, Frank Simmonds, who worked at the bakery from its opening in 1946, to when Simmonds took over operations in 1971 and retired and closed the bakery in 2011.

"I like how fresh baked goods are made. Mr. Simmonds was a person who helped me find dedication and a strong sense of duty. It was really cool to learn what I could from him," Dominguez said.

The building's previous occupant, Roosevelt Brewing Company Tap Room, closed in January, Dominguez said.
