The newest hit Netflix documentary, Sly, tells the story of iconic actor Sylvester Stallone's rise to fame in the 1970s, and his illustrious film career.
Even if you aren't totally familiar with Sylvester Stallone's name, you'd definitely recognize his work. The 77-year-old filmmaker is one of the most iconic faces in the business, and is best known for Rocky, a franchise which he both created and starred in.
Sylvester has had some unexpectedly massive success in his career, but it was quite a rocky road along the way. Sly, which is just over 90 minutes long, walks through his life's successes and failures—pulling in insights from the people the actor was closest to, and those he inspired—including Pulp Fiction director Quentin Tarantino.
Below, see everything to know about what Sylvester is up to now.
He has his own reality show.
Move over, The Kardashians! The Stallone family recently debuted their own reality series, The Family Stallone, in May 2023. The series runs exclusively on Paramount Plus, and follows the more realistic, "Family Man" version of Sylvester, which is quite a paradoxical view when compared to the "Action Hero" persona he's often played up throughout his career.
The Family Stallone also treats viewers to an inside look at Sylvester's relationship with his wife, Jennifer Flavin, while also featuring their three daughters: Scarlet Rose, 21, Sistine, 25, and Sophia Rose, 27. The show first aired in May 2023, and has run for one season. It was also renewed for a second season around the same time, per Variety.
BTW, when he's not filming his own reality show, Sylvester also stars in the Paramount Plus drama series, Tulsa King, a fictional comedy series.
He's been married three times.
Sylvester is currently married to his third wife, Jennifer Flavin. The pair met in 1988, while 19-year-old Jennifer was visiting Los Angeles. At the time, Sylvester was already in his 40s, and had two children from a previous marriage to Sasha Czack, per PEOPLE.
Sylvester and Jennifer began dating in 1990, and separated briefly between 1994 and 1995, due to Sylvester's infidelity, per PEOPLE. Sylvester was having an affair with model Janice Dickinson at the time, and believed he was the father to her child. After a paternity test proved he was not, he rekindled his relationship with Jennifer, per PEOPLE. Sylvester married Jennifer in 1997, and they share three daughters together.
In August 2022, Jennifer Flavin filed for divorce. TMZ revealed Sylvester and Jennifer did not have a prenup in place, so they later informed PEOPLE they would settle the divorce outside of a court.
However, the couple called off the separation a month later, per PEOPLE. The timeline of the couple's almost-divorce is apparently documented on the family's reality show, per PEOPLE. "They just decided to reverse course and try again," a source close to the couple told the publication.
Prior to his relationship with Jennifer, Sylvester was married to Sasha Czack between 1974 and 1985. The couple had two sons together: Sage and Seargeoh. Sasha was the one who filed for divorce, per UPI. The actor was also briefly married to Brigette Nielsen between 1985 and 1987. Nielsen was Sylvester's costar in several movies—including Rocky IV, IMDb.
How many kids does he have?
In addition to his daughters, and his son, Sage, Sylvester is also father to a son Seargeoh, who is 44 years old. At age 3, Seargeoh was diagnosed with autism, and lives mostly out of the public eye, per Page Six.
In 1985, Stallone and his wife established a research fund with the National Society for Children and Adults With Autism. It seems Sylvester's ex-wife, Sasha, has dedicated most of her life to caring and advocating for her son, per a PEOPLE profile story on Seargeoh in 1985.
What happened to Sylvester Stallone's son?
Sylvester's eldest child, Sage Stallone, died of heart disease at just 36 years old. After his death, an official autopsy found he had died of atherosclerosis, a thickening or hardening of arteries cause by plaque build-up, which resulted in a heart attack, per CNN.
Sylvester later released a public statement after his son's death, in response to speculation about his cause of death, per CNN. "When a parent loses a child there is no greater pain. Therefore I am imploring people to respect my wonderfully talented son’s memory and feel compassion for his loving mother Sasha, because this agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives," the statement read. "Sage was our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son’s memory and soul left in peace.”
What is Sylvester Stallone's net worth?
Sylvester's net worth is around $400 million, per Celebrity Net Worth. The publication states he was one of the highest paid action stars between 1980 and 1990.
He's also made bank in real estate recently. He sold a Beverly Hills home to Adele for $58 million in February 2022, per the Los Angeles Times, and has also listed another mansion in Hidden Hills for 21.3 million in May, per Architectural Digest.
