Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lundgren Are Reuniting For a New TV Show
Great news for fans of Eighties action movies: Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lundgren are reuniting. The two action legends are working on a new hour-long TV drama series together, reports Deadline, with Lundgren attached to star and Stallone executive producing through his company Balboa Productions.
Written by Ken Sanzel (Numbers), the as-yet-untitled show is fast becoming one of the most highly sought projects of pitch season, drawing intense interest from Fox, CBS and NBC. Lundgren will play an agent with the UN Department of Safety and Security; his character is described as a "one-man S.W.A.T. team and hostage negotiator."
This will mark the latest in a series of collaborations between Stallone and Lundgren: they first acted together in Rocky IV where they played fierce rivals Rocky Balboa and Ivan Drago, then teamed up together on action franchise The Expendables. More recently, they reprised their respective roles as Rocky and Drago in spin-off sequel Creed II.
The two have also been hanging out off camera lately: last weekend Stallone shared a video of himself, Lundgren and their fellow action movie legend and Expendables co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger living it up in Los Angeles and "growing old ungracefully."
In addition to collaborating on this new series with Lundgren, Stallone has also said that he's working with producer Irwin Winkler on another Rocky movie, and that a prequel TV series could also be in the pipeline. In the meantime, he's also about to release a new chapter in his other long-running action movie series: Rambo V: Last Blood is due to come out on September 20.
