The Table in Mt. Hope is open!
MOUNT HOPE, WV (WVNS) – A local town had a long-awaited and highly anticipated ribbon cutting for a new restaurant.
The Table in Mount Hope celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony that has been years in the making. The restaurant is a passion project for Mike and Jennifer Kessinger.
Mike, who is also the Mayor of Mount Hope, says they have been planning the business since 2019, but COVID delayed their project. While the pandemic kept people apart, Mike’s goal for the restaurant has always been to create a space where people can come together.
“We wanted to just create a place for community and for folks to come and gather and fellowship and for, lastly, opportunities for the community to be able to come together and have a place where they can have a coffee and have a deli sandwich and barbecue,” said Mike Kessinger to 59News. “These are all things that we personally love [. . . ] we wanted to just be able to provide something like that for our community.”

The grand opening saw the restaurant packed with family, friends, and even state representatives like Eric Brook and Elliot Pritt. It was also filled with hearty conversations and mouthwatering food.
The Table offers a full coffee bar and a regular deli menu. On Fridays and Saturdays, Kessinger said he will fire up his smoker, which might be the largest in the state, to serve up his take on Texas barbeque.
The Table is located at 707 Main Street Mount Hope, WV, 25880.
