If we had to guess how the geniuses at Taco Bell come up with new Freeze flavors, it'd be this simple two-step process: Raid the grocery store's candy aisle, develop new Freeze. The chain's frozen drinks tend to riff on sweet treats - Airheads, Pop Rocks, Starburst - and the latest launch is no different. At Taco Bell, you can now drink the rainbow - well, at least the R in ROYGBIV.

The chain just launched a Skittles Strawberry Freeze, calling it "your favorite Skittles flavor," thus writing the latest chapter in the unofficial 7-Eleven Slurpee versus Taco Bell Freeze saga. You see, in 2016, 7-Eleven added a Skittles Green Apple Slurpee to its line-up, but green Skittles have a reputation for being divisive. Fans even once petitioned to change the green apple flavor back to lime. No group's ever made that kind of sweeping judgment against the red strawberry chews. But that's all slush under the bridge.

Taco Bell 's pouring the new flavor for $2.29 a pop - $2.59, if you go for a large. But go in during the chain's Happy Hour, from 2 -5 p.m. at participating locations, and you can score a cup for one buck. That leaves you just enough money to spring for the brand new Nacho Fries - cha-ching!
