Update: October 23, 2019 2:06 P.M.

If you're someone who has been watching the World Series (YES BASEBALL SEASON IS STILL SOMEHOW HAPPENING) you may know that the Washington Nationals narrowly beat the Houston Astros in game one. Even if that means nothing to you, you should know that because Washington Nationals player Trea Turner stole a base during that game, we're all going to get free tacos from Taco Bell. Hooray!

This year, it only took three pitches for Trea to become a National Hero (get it...because he plays for the Nationals??) and steal a base. At least we didn't have to live in suspense for very long.

Because of Trea's great, great work, you can go into Taco Bell from 2-6 p.m. on October 30 and score yourself a free Doritos Locos Taco. You can also order one all day that day on the app and get it for free. You don't even need to purchase anything else, you can just walk in, ask (nicely!) for a taco and get it! When does that ever happen?

Well, now that that's settled, I guess we can all stop watching baseball. It's a little bit hard to get invested in the game when I know there are not free tacos on the line for me. Can you blame me? See you next year!

Original: October 16, 2019 10:05 A.M. Even if you don’t know much about sports, you should start studying up on baseball so you can get in on this year’s “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” deal. It’s just as easy as it sounds, you guys: When the first stolen base of the World Series happens, everyone can get a free Doritos Locos Taco from Taco Bell. Simple as that. I'd say your odds of securing yourself a free taco this year are pretty good.

Everyone's favorite chain has been doing this giveaway for seven years now, but this year it’ll be a little different. For the first time ever, there’s a chance to win some real cash along with your free taco.

T-Bell is partnering with BetMGM to let people put real money on the line by placing bets on which player will be the one to steal the base. So if this is something you wanna get in on, maybe brush up on more than just the baseball basics. (For those of you who don't watch the sport but are in it for the tacos, the World Series begins next week, BTW.)

“When it comes to the World Series, rooting for that first stolen base and rejoicing for free tacos has really become the game within the game,” director of brand partnerships and sponsorships at Taco Bell Will Bortz told Thrillist of the offer: “We can’t wait to see fans engage with the program like never before and, of course, we’re excited to see if their predictions come true.”

This new part of the deal can be accessed through the Taco Bell app, but it’ll only available in New Jersey, Mississippi, and Nevada where this kind of betting is legal.

...And we're excited to claim our free taco. Win-win. :)
