Tamera Mowry shares family photo to pay tribute to niece, Alaina, who died in Borderline shooting
Tamera Mowry-Housley is paying tribute to her late niece, Alaina Housley, one year after she was murdered in a mass shooting.
The Real co-host and her husband Adam Housley both took to social media on Thursday to commemorate the life of their 18-year-old niece, which was cut short just one year ago on Nov. 7, 2018. Alaina was one of 12 people shot to death at Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, Calif. But her memory lives on with her family and a non-profit foundation in her name.
“Today marks one year since we lost our sweet angel Alaina. I miss her every single day, but I know she is always with us and watching over our family from Heaven,” Tamera captioned a video on her Instagram, which was attributed to Alaina’s Voice Foundation. “In her honor, we are fighting on her behalf through the @alainasvoicefoundation. We are asking for our leaders to start the discussion to create #CHANGE.”
After posting the call for action, the television personality and actress also shared a family photo to her Instagram, where she wrote, “I miss you so damn much.”
The photo is the last Christmas card picture of the Housley side of the family. Tamera’s friend Camila Alves commented, “Thinking of you and your family today.”
Adam also posted an emotional tribute with a photo of Alaina from her high school graduation.
”Miss you. Every second. Every minute. Every hour. Every day. Every week. Every month. Every year,” he wrote. “The movement is being built and the change is coming. Soon. Very soon. But you already know that. We love you so much.”
In October, Adam posted photos from a tribute concert at Blue Note Napa in honor of Alaina’s foundation.
