On Taps Korean Technical Label Post Archive Faction for a Collaboration on the Cloudmonster 2 Sneaker
On has announced its debut collaboration with Post Archive Faction (PAF), a Korean label specializing in avant-garde technical apparel that’s often asymmetrical and reconstructed.
The duo’s first collection together includes the Cloud Monster 2, a running shoe that just launched in February with an updated CloudTec sole. One of PAF’s take on the shoe is predominantly rendered in greyscale along with faint green accents that appear throughout the accompanying apparel, while the other is done entirely in black. The treatment was inspired by PAF cofounder Dongjoon Lim’s experience visiting the Limmat River, which begins in On’s home city, Zurich.

Highlights of the apparel include the X Breaker jacket, which has been given strategic mesh placements for better airflow and ease of movement, as well as a super lightweight Flow running pant. Short- and long-sleeve T-shirts and shorts form the rest of the collection, which On says was originally intended for the On Athletics Club but evolved to connect performance with contemporary aesthetics.
On is still a relative novice to the collaboration space but does count Kith and Loewe as past partners, as well as the more esoteric Japanese label South2 West8. PAF, which was short-listed for the LVMH prize in 2021 and collaborated with Off-White prior to Virgil Abloh’s passing, would sit somewhere in between those three parties in regards to size and esteem and could prove an important step in making On more fashionable.
The Post Archive Faction x On Cloudmaster 2 and the rest of the “Current Form 1.0” collection will release May 3. Pricing has not yet been announced.
