Target Eyeing Major Changes That Would Impact Shoppers
Expect some major changes coming to a Target store near you!
The Minneapolis retailer is said to have reported another quarterly profit decline on Wednesday, May 17, which lead the company to issue an update regarding the current sales and profit for the period. According to NBC Chicago, the company also has put in place some new changes to hopefully bring their sales back up to speed.
As costs are rising all over the US, that comes with a rise in theft, along with customers who have become more cautious about what they're spending, leading Target to see a decline in sales.

And, as we all know, Target is a perfect spot to grab throw pillows, living room, and kitchen decor, or utensils, but, now the retailer is urging shoppers to head to the store for groceries rather than their usual gadgets and decorations.
Per CNBC, "only 21 percent of Target's annual sales came from food and beverage in the most recent fiscal year, according to the company's financial filings."
"It's actually a gateway to the rest of the store," Chief Food and Beverage Officer Rick Gomez said in an interview with the outlet. "It drives traffic to the store. It drives traffic to our site. And then while they're picking up what they need food- and beverage-wise, they'll browse through the rest of the store and maybe pick up a few things at Ulta [Beauty at Target] or a few things in apparel."
Target has added more food items to its grocery brand Good & Gather in addition to its snack and dessert line Favorite Day.
"When times are tough and you're paycheck to paycheck, you can't afford to buy food that nobody eats," Gomez explained. "So it's really important to us that we offer value which is a good price, but also really good quality."
So, instead of hitting up your nearest grocery store, consider heading to Target to grab some of their delicious food!
