How often do you find a pair of heels that you can comfortably wear for hours? (The key word being *comfortably*.) The right answer is rarely, and it’s even more rare that those heels are super affordable. So, when we saw shoppers raving about a $35 pair of heels from Target that look just like a popular Dolce Vita style, you know we had to add them to our cart.
Target is one of our go-to destinations for shopping stylish fashion. We’ve spotted dozens of designer-inspired items for less, and the Women's Basil Mule Heels from Target’s A New Day label is our latest find. The chic slip-on heels are currently available in four colors and come in sizes 5 through 12, including wide options.
A New Day Women's Basil Mule Heels, $35 at Target
If these shoes seem familiar, it’s because they look nearly identical to the famous Dolce Vita Paily Heels. These sandals took the internet by storm with their on-trend, yet timeless, chunky braided straps that can be styled in countless ways. But as with many sought-after products, the Paily Heels are perpetually sold out in popular sizes.
Enter Target’s Basil Mule Heels. Available in black, light brown, dark brown, and silver, it's practically the same shoe, right down to the scale-like texture on the heel itself. Loving the look, one of our editors bought the braided sandals for herself and proceeded to wear them to an all-day wedding. Hours of dancing later, she still didn’t need to break out any Band-Aids, which is quite the feat for her.
The 3.25-inch heel is, arguably, the perfect in-between height. When you could use the elevation boost, but don’t want to deal with achy feet (who does?), these are the perfect pair to reach for in your closet. And if you don’t want to take our word for it, check out the 750+ five-star reviews.
Hundreds of shoppers called the Basil Mule Heels "the most comfortable" heels they’ve ever worn. "I was surprised how comfortable they were," wrote one shopper. "Literally danced the entire night and didn’t feel like I was even wearing heels."
"The braided bands feel like fluffy clouds," wrote another reviewer. "Dolce Vita sells for twice as much [and] they’re awful quality and hurt your feet. Don’t even think twice about getting these."
Customers also love how the heels come in a full selection of wide sizes, which you don’t always see for budget-friendly shoes. “My feet are wide and I struggle to find fashion-forward shoes,” said one reviewer. “These shoes fit the bill, I have them in several colors. The heel is so cute.”
“There’s a reason I bought this shoe in two different colors,” another reviewer wrote. “I’ve worn many brands of shoes, especially heels, and these are the MOST comfortable. I could wear these all day and I’m not in any sort of discomfort. All of my girlfriends have purchased them as well. Great quality, great price.”
It seems like the question is not whether you should buy Target’s Basil Mule Heels, but how many colors you should buy them in. With such a steal of a price, it’s easy to justify the whole collection. The black and brown options are our favorites for versatile styling, and at the time of this writing, all sizes are in stock.
