Taste of the Town: Try Bergeron’s Boudin & Cajun Meats in Port Allen for Louisiana flavor
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — It’s that time of year again, “Football Friday Night” is back for a new season. This year, BRProud is introducing a new segment called Taste of the Town, where we highlight some of the best local places to eat for our game of the week.
This week’s “Football Friday Night” game of the week is between Port Allen High School and Brusly High School. For our first stop on the “Taste of the Town” tour, BRProud heads to Bergeron’s Boudin & Cajun Meats, 760 Louisiana 415, Port Allen.
We all know that people in Louisiana love their meats, and people in Brusly and Port Allen know that Bergeron’s is the place to go. Some of the restaurant’s specialties include Cajun specialties with rubs and spices, cracklings, boudin and a special steak wrap with a little bacon.
“We stay true to homemade meals,” said Craig “Moonie” Bergeron, owner of Bergeron’s Boudin & Cajun Meats.

Craig and Angela Bergeron, the owners, are the husband-wife duo powering this operation. Craig said Bergeron’s has grown from a small business into what it is now.
“We started out as a camp cook,” said Craig. “Started as a little shack, basically grew it to two 7,000 square foot facilities.”
Bergeron’s Boudin & Cajun Meats is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday. Bergeron’s also has locations in Shreveport, Bossier City, Covington, Garyville and Gonzales.
