'Taxi' Cast Has Must-See Reunion 40 Years After the Show Ended
40 years after the Emmy-winning sitcom aired its final episode, Taxi fans finally got their reunion–well, sort of.
While it sounds like the line-up to a great joke, Judd Hirsch, Christopher Lloyd, Tony Danza, and Carol Kane walked into a restaurant to enjoy one another's company homecoming style.
Lloyd, 84, shared the group shot on Monday via Twitter alongside the caption, "What the hell is going on here? #taxi."

Shortly after sharing the shot, Lloyd's supporters found every opportunity to make a Taxi pun and ran with it, which quickly caused the post to go viral and attain over 4.8 million views and thousands of likes and retweets in less than 24-hours.

If I walked out of the restaurant and saw this before me in real time I would not have been able to control the exclamation that would have exited my mouth. https://t.co/LbW55pclgE

Also among those sharing their applause was filmmaker James Gunn, who replied with a simple emoji praising the four actors.
Other devoted viewers, however, pointed out the image was missing at least two of the show's most notorious alums, Danny DeVito and Marilu Henner.
"I'm just going to assume Danny Devito is under the table," one Twitter user quipped.

"Pretty cool. Danny is all that's missing," another added alongside a gif of the actor in character.

"Beware! Marilu Henner will remember this insult!" someone else wrote, mocking Henner's rare neurological condition that causes a highly-detailed photographic memory called highly superior autobiographical memory (HSAM).

Taxi aired on ABC from 1978 to 1982 before it was adopted by NBC for its final and fifth season, from 1982 to 1983. The show also starred Rhea Perlman and Randall Carver alongside the late Jeff Conaway and the late Andy Kaufman.
Despite the long wait and incomplete cast pic, fans were pretty pleased to see the former cast members happy, healthy and continuing the friendship they started decades ago. Some even suggested the talented cast revive their on-screen relationships with a Taxi revival, a movie, or by simply joining Jerry Seinfeld for an episode of his talk show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
