Taylor Lautner's Wife Says She's 'Deceased' After His Rare Comment About Ex Taylor Swift
The actor recently opened up about his role during the infamous Kanye West incident.
Taylor Lautner recently sent his wife, Taylor Dome, and Taylor Swift fans into a tailspin.
The couple hosts a podcast together called The Squeeze, and in a clip posted on TikTok yesterday, Feb. 1, Dome asked Lautner what one moment in his life he would go back to if he could, and what he would say to himself, and his answer shocked us all.
“Probably the 2009 VMAs, when I presented the award to Taylor and was unaware that the Kanye thing was not a skit,” he said, leading Dome to fall back, laughing in shock as she slumped into the seating behind her, eventually leaning back to say, “I’m deceased,” into the mic.
The moment he's referencing is, of course, one of the more infamous incidents in modern pop history, in which Kanye West stormed the stage during Swift's acceptance speech for Best Female Video at the MTV Video Music Awards, declaring Beyonce?'s video "one of the best videos of all time."
Lautner went on to explain that in the moment, which came just after the then-couple went public, he thought it was a scripted skit.
He stood just a few feet behind Swift, but couldn't really hear what was being said from the stage and couldn't see their faces. “I can barely hear it. I can’t see them,” he explained. “I’m just assuming this whole thing was a practiced and rehearsed skit, because why else would Kanye West be jumping on the stage interrupting Taylor Swift? It just didn’t make sense.”
He then noted, "And if you look back at it, I'm actually caught, like, laughing and giggling at him. I'm like, 'I can't hear them but this is probably really funny right now.'"
But when he caught a glimpse of the singer's face as soon as she turned around to leave the stage, he knew that it was no joke.

Fans of both parties were touched to see where his mind went when asked what the one moment he'd revisit—and, assumedly, change—if he could.
"The ONE moment he chose was to help an EX GIRLFRIEND. He really is such an incredible guy," one comment read.
"Absolutely nothing could have prepared me for this being his answer," another admitted.
"I hope he doesn’t carry any guilt over that. ??," someone else wrote.
Many also referenced Swift's song "Back to December," which is known to be about the end of their relationship.
"There’s a reason why his song is 'back to December'. He’s a good one," one wrote, while another added, "And this is why he's the only ex to ever get an apology song."
"She goes back to December all the time but he goes back to the 2009 VMAS all the time ????," said another, referencing the lyrics, while another added, "How you held me in your arms that September night the first time you ever saw me cry ??"
It sure was a thoughtful response from the former Twilight star, and we're in total agreement with the emotional fan responses!
