Taylor Swift brought back her Midnights era aesthetic with her 34th birthday look. The singer was photographed out in New York City this evening, wearing a moon- and star-embellished little black dress. She wore her blonde hair down straight and of course had on her iconic red lip for glam. She accessorized with a silver statement bag.

Swift was joined by Blake Lively, who also wore black. Per JustJared, Swift began her night by getting dinner at Freemans on the Lower East Side before going to The Box with her group. Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce was not photographed with them. His absence comes as no surprise, as a source confirmed to Page Six earlier that he had mandatory Kansas City Chiefs practice today and was unable to leave Kansas City, Missouri.

Still, Kelce gave Swift a sweet, brief shoutout on his podcast New Heights, which was released on her birthday.

Swift spending her birthday out in New York reflects her mentality now of not being afraid to go out and live despite her fame. She told Time last week, “Over the years, I’ve learned I don’t have the time or bandwidth to get pressed about things that don’t matter. Yes, if I go out to dinner, there’s going to be a whole chaotic situation outside the restaurant. But I still want to go to dinner with my friends. Life is short. Have adventures. Me locking myself away in my house for a lot of years—I’ll never get that time back. I’m more trusting now than I was six years ago.”
