Peta Spills Taylor Swift's 'Dancing with the Stars' News

Dancing with the Stars has revealed that next week the celebrities and pros will be dancing to the music of Motown, followed by its seasonal tribute to music from Disney, this year celebrating Disney’s 100th anniversary, and it’s doing a monster-themed night for Halloween, but could the week prior to that be Taylor Swift night on the dance competition?

“We will be having a Taylor Swift week here,” pro Peta Murgatroyd told Billboard magazine. Then she had second thoughts, asking, “Am I allowed to say that?”

DWTS has, of course, neither confirmed not denied the reveal, but it would be a nice tie-in as winners of the show receive the newly named Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, and Taylor wrote and recorded the song “mirrorball,” with the lyrics:

“I'll get you out on the floor
Shimmering beautiful”

Peta is partnered with Barry Williams of The Brady Bunch fame this season, who it turns out is a fan of Travis Kelce, Taylor’s reported new flame, and when he commented on that to Billboard, Peta added, “Apparently, I know who Travis Kelce is now. I did not know that name before.”

Swift has a previous connection to Dancing with the Stars. Back in 2010, in conjunction with the release of her Speak Now album, she appeared on the show, performing “Mine” and “White Horse,” so it isn’t a stretch for her to approve songs from her catalog for the dancers.

Last week, Barry and Peta performed a cha cha that earned them a low score of 15 out of 30 possible points from the judges—which caused some controversy as fans believed they should have been higher, so the dance duo is looking forward to Motown week to redeem themselves.

“I grew up with Motown,” Barry exclusively told Parade. “That was radio for us. In the ‘70s, ‘80s, that was what we listened to. The Top 40. So many of the artists who came out, I’m big fans of. I am delighted to have a wonderful dance to do for that—a tango.”

Dancing with the Stars airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
