Taylor Swift Confidant Hits Back at Speculation About Singer’s Private Life: ‘No Boundary’

Taylor Swift is the biggest pop star on the planet, which, however unfair it may be, opens up her talents and personal life to scrutiny. Recently, though, a Swift confidant hit back at speculation about the singer's sexuality—and they didn't shy away from slamming the publication that allowed it.
On Jan. 4, The New York Times published an opinion piece that took a deep dive into Swift's sexuality. The article speculated the pop star is a closeted queer person. But a source close to Swift didn't let that fly unanswered.
“Because of her massive success, in this moment there is a Taylor-shaped hole in people’s ethics,” a Swift confidant told CNN for an article published on Jan. 6. “This article wouldn’t have been allowed to be written about Shawn Mendes or any male artist whose sexuality has been questioned by fans.”
The source, who wished to remain anonymous, continued: “There seems to be no boundary some journalists won’t cross when writing about Taylor, regardless of how invasive, untrue, and inappropriate it is—all under the protective veil of an ‘opinion piece.'"
Enough is enough with these fabricated lies about Taylor from Deuxmoi. There was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind. This is an insane thing to post. It’s time for you to be held accountable for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like these. pic.twitter.com/cFi0wQc9cp

More often than not, Swift's publicist, Tree Paine, and those close to her avoid commenting on news headlines about her. But this isn't the first time someone has spoken out on the "Cruel Summer" singer's behalf. In November, Paine shut down rumors that Swift had previously been engaged to her ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.
"Enough is enough with these fabricated lies about Taylor from Deuxmoi," the publicist tweeted. "There was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind. This is an insane thing to post. It’s time for you to be held accountable for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like these."
Hopefully, publications will think twice before openly speculating about a celebrity's sexuality—whether or not it involves Swift.
