How Taylor Swift Honors Kelly Clarkson for Her Advice to Re-Record Her Albums

From one musician to another, Kelly Clarkson is clearly someone Taylor Swift trusted to take advice from.

The American Idol alum previously suggested the idea of re-recording her albums to Swift back in 2019—and the "Bejeweled" songstress is still thanking her for the sage advice years later.

According to Clarkson, 41, Swift now sends her a gift every time she releases one of her "Taylor's Version" albums, which she has already done four times, most recently with her re-recorded album, 1989 (Taylor's Version)

"You know what's so funny? She just sent me flowers," the former coach on The Voice recently told E! News. "She's so nice. She did. She was like, 'Every time I release something'—'cause she just did 1989. I got that really cute cardigan, too."

As Swifties may recall, Swift, 33, was put in a tricky situation in 2019 when her former label, Big Machine Label Group, was acquired by Scooter Braun's company Ithaca Holdings LLC, which consequently obtained the rights to the masters of her first six studio albums.

Clarkson mentioned the idea of re-recording in a tweet at the time—which is exactly what Swift ended up doing.

"She's a very smart businesswoman. So, she would have thought of that," the Kelly Clarkson Show host added to E! News. "But it just sucks when you see artists that you admire and you respect really wanting something and it's special to them. You know if they're going to find a loophole, you find a loophole. And she did it and literally is, like, the best-selling artist I feel like of all-time now."

Swift's masters for her first six albums has since been sold to Shamrock, while she's been busy releasing the re-recorded versions and getting to revisit all of her old eras as she does so.

So far, the "Lavender Haze" singer has put out Fearless (Taylor's Version), Speak Now (Taylor's Version), Red (Taylor's Version), and 1989 (Taylor's Version), while fans eagerly await the release of her re-recorded self-titled debut album and 2017's Reputation.
