Taylor Swift References Kanye West VMAs Interruption on Stage During Concert
When Taylor Swift's fans interrupted her a little too much at a recent concert on her Eras Tour, the singer was reminded of a moment over a decade ago when Kanye West interrupted her at the VMAs with less wholesome intentions.
While talking about her Evermore album at Foro Sol stadium in Mexico City recently, Swift was interrupted by fans cheering and screaming her name. It's certainly not the worst way to be interrupted, which is exactly what Swift thought, telling fans, "Wow, people chanting your name, it's really the only way to be interrupted… and I would know."
Pop Base shared a video of the Eras Tour moment on Twitter, and fans loved seeing Swift joke around with Swifties.

The star was clearly referencing the incident at the 2009 VMAs when West burst on stage as Swift was receiving the award for Best Female Video for "You Belong With Me," beating Beyoncé's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)."
Clearly, West didn't agree as he grabbed the mic from Swift and said, "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!" Swift gracefully responded to the awkward situation, but years later, she's luckily able to make a little fun of it.
Fans enjoyed Swift's funny comment, with one saying, "Dark humor looks so good on her."
Another declared Swift "MOTHER," while someone else said, "Sorry queen, it’s hard to contain our excitement when we’re standing mere feet away from the music industry!"
Swift's Eras Tour has been filled with many memorable moments throughout its run so far, like the hilarious behind-the-scenes stage transitions, as well as an on-stage blunder when Swift said the wrong opening act. Luckily, there are plenty more concerts coming up as Swift continues the international leg of her tour.
