Taylor Swift Rep Speaks Out About Alleged Altercation Between Dad Scott and Photographer

Scott Swift and Taylor Swift attend the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on April 7, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Amid allegations that Taylor Swift's father, Scott Swift, was involved in an altercation with an Australian photographer, a spokesperson for the pop superstar has addressed the claims.

“Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water," a rep for Taylor told Parade.

On the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 27 (local time), Australian outlet Sky News reported that Scott, 71, allegedly assaulted a photographer hours after her last Eras Tour concert in Sydney, Australia.

Officers told People in a statement they were investigating an "alleged assault after a 71-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man at Neutral Bay Wharf" on Tuesday at roughly 2:30 a.m. local time.

"The younger man reported the incident and inquiries are now underway by officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command. The man did not require medical treatment," the statement continued, without naming the individuals involved.

Since Taylor first embarked on her Eras Tour in March 2023, Scott has traveled across the U.S.—and now the world—to support his daughter. He is often spotted handing out guitar picks, recording Taylor on his phone while singing and dancing to her music and trading friendship bracelets with fans. Recently, Scott even handed out sandwiches and fruit to concert-goers.

Next, Taylor will take her Eras Tour performance to Singapore for a six-show stint starting on March 2. After a month-long break, she will head to Paris for four more concert dates.
