With all the hype around the blossoming romance between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, fans are eager to know what will transpire next between the couple—are wedding bells in the future? Are these two endgame? Or will the relationship ultimately be short-lived?
While everyone has their own opinions on the matter, CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten took an analytical approach in an attempt to decipher whether or not the NFL star and pop songstress will still be together by the time the next football season rolls around (roughly nine months from now, as the regular season kicks off in September).
So, let's check out the stats, shall we? Because after all, as the saying goes, numbers don't lie (though it should be noted, they can never totally explain human behavior...).
"A lot of people are arguing about whether their relationship is just a PR stunt. What do the oddsmakers say; what do the numbers tell us about that?" news anchor Jim Acosta opened the segment.
Enten jumped right in, replying that while he totally "believes in love," according to the numbers, odds are, the pair will not still be an item come the fourth quarter of 2024.
There's a "39% chance that they will be," while 61% is betting that they won't be, but as he further admitted, "39% ain't half bad!"
As for his own opinion, Enten shared this personal vote of confidence, consoling Swifties: "I am rooting for them, because love, as my uncle once wrote, will keep us together."
"Absolutely," Acosta offered in response, adding, "When it comes to those numbers, they just have to shake it off," sneaking in a pun in honor of the singer's 2014 hit.
For now, though, the duo has been going strong for the past few months, showing up to support one another's career events, as well as spending even more time together during the current holiday break.
