Taylor Swift's Dad Scott Reportedly Dishes to Fans About His Favorite Album
Scott Swift and his daughter, Taylor Swift
Many Taylor Swift fans believe they have discovered which of her albums is her father’s favorite, though Scott Swift himself hasn’t publicly addressed the question.
A few Swift fan accounts on X shared the story of three Swifties unexpectedly spotting “Papa Swift” as he met friends in a breakfast shop. The fan accounts linked to a TikTok posted on March 16 by @rupley, or Alex, that included a video of the interaction.
In the video, the trio of Swifties tried to figure out a way to approach a man who looks like Scott. The man waited in line before joining his friends at a table next to the Swifties.
As the caption for the TikTok explains, one Swiftie eventually approached the man and asked if he was, in fact, Taylor’s dad. They reported that he said yes before going on to discuss how excited he was for them to have the opportunity to listen to Taylor’s 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, once it drops on April 19.

The man who identified himself as Scott then revealed the new album is his favorite, the TikToker reported, before he handed them some of his daughter’s guitar picks, which he often carries to hand out to fans.
Swiftie excitement about The Tortured Poets Department is escalating with just over one month remaining until its release. Taylor surprised fans with its announcement during the 2024 Grammy Awards on Feb. 4 as she accepted her record-breaking fourth Album of the Year award for her 2022 album Midnights.
Taylor has kept busy in the weeks since her album announcement as her international Eras Tour picked up with dates in Australia and Singapore. She now has a temporary pause in her touring commitment before the European and U.K. legs of her Eras Tour begin in May.
