Been dreaming of converting your living room into a home theater? If your answer is an enthusiastic “yes,” and your only limitation is a shoestring budget, then we found an amazing deal that can help you get started.
Walmart has this TCL 65-inch Class 4K UHD LED Roku Smart TV on sale for only $448, or $552 off its list price. That’s more than 55 percent off. At this rate, you’ll have plenty of room remaining in your budget to upgrade your couch, get a new console, or check other items off your wishlist.
This TCL TV packs plenty of power and clarity at a wallet-friendly price. It features a massive 65-inch 4K display with an impressive Ultra HD resolution, which is four times more clear and crisp than Full HD. Along with HDR settings for vivid and bright colors, this 4K TV also features a surprisingly high refresh rate (120Hz) for smooth motion. It’s perfect for action movies, sports and playing video games — you won’t have to deal with even a moment of lag time.
One shopper praised how great it was for shoppers looking to snag a TV on a budget: “I went for this because I wanted a great picture, easy to learn to operate, and for the preprogrammed apps like Netflix and Roku streaming.”
Plenty of shoppers praised how easy it was to set up and use — one parent shared that even her 8-year-old can set it up without a problem. Even self-proclaimed tech-averse reviewers didn’t have any trouble getting the TV ready to go.
“From unboxing to sitting down to watch a movie on Amazon Prime, took all of 30 minutes,” a Walmart shopper shared. “Ease of use and picture and sound quality is amazing for the price! The most difficult thing was learning the remote, but we caught on quickly. It is super lightweight, yet sturdy.”
Thanks to the Roku built-in, it’s easy to stream a seemingly endless selection of movies and TV shows from over 500,000 video streaming channels, including Netflix, Disney+, Hulu Plus, HBO Now and more. The TCL TV also comes with three HDMI ports for a video game console and a soundbar, and it will still have a spare port if you want to connect your laptop to show off vacation photos or present a slideshow.
Between Roku, three HDMI ports and excellent resolution, this 4K TV is the epitome of “bang for your buck,” compared to other sub-$500 TVs. In fact, it’s so good, that if you do end up getting it for your home theater setup, you might need to start charging friends and family to watch the game or catch a flick with you.
Don’t let the low price tag fool you, however. Multiple shoppers note that they preferred the TCL to their Samsung.
“I just returned our Samsung TV because of a defect,” one reviewer shared. “We decided to go with the TCL TV and I have to say the picture and sound is so much better. I love this TV!!”
Another shopper agreed: “We had a Samsung prior to buying our TCL and, the quality of the Samsung doesn't even come close to the quality of the TCL.”
If you want an even better picture, one shopper shared a helpful tip: Play around with the settings on the Roku app:
“The picture may look blurry if you don't do this: Download the Roku mobile app on your smartphone,” the reviewer instructed. “Go to settings, go to expert settings, turn off noise reduction.”
“I was about to return this TV until I did this,” the reviewer revealed. “Huge difference! The picture is much sharper, more focused after this step.” Another tip? Using your phone as an enhanced remote (just make sure to download the app).
In short? It’s a total steal:
“When you compare this to the others it is a steal without question,” a thrilled shopper raved. “We love it and I'm still amazed at the picture quality, especially with 4K programming. You will not be disappointed with it.”
