Teacher mocks students in video — then accidentally shares it with school
A Chicago math teacher has left her school — though it’s unclear whether she was fired or quit voluntarily — after she accidentally posted a Snapchat video in which she disparaged her students, CBS 2 Chicago reports.
The unidentified teacher at Acero Cruz in the Rogers Park neighborhood reportedly shared the video with students by airdropping it inadvertently last Tuesday. The video shows her recounting a fight involving two female students, one of whom she describes as having a “weave.”

“Here we are,” she says of the altercation, which was apparently over a guy. “Got some weave in our hands. Got some cheap shots on the side. ‘Cause this guy is worth it. He’s worth it.”
She also calls a male student “one of the stupidest, dumbest people I’ve ever seen in my life.”
“Like this kid probably doesn’t even know what 2 + 2 is if his life depended on it, kind of dumb,” she says.
Despite her social media goof, the teacher showed up for work the following day, outraging the sister of one of the students involved in the fight. Shanique Branford told CBS 2 that the teacher was “mean to my sister” and would make comments about her weave.
Branford added that the teacher’s mockery of the other student’s intelligence was “not right.”
“The school is a safe place for students,” she said. “It doesn’t matter their race or ethnic background. She shouldn’t be talking about kids like that.”
Branford called for the teacher’s dismissal. While a spokeswoman for the school declined to comment on whether or not a firing took place, the educator is no longer working there.
“Acero School immediately began a rigorous investigation once informed of this incident,” the spokeswoman told CBS 2. “Although we are legally precluded from commenting on confidential personnel matters, Acero will follow our employee polices and exercise all available remedies pursuant to the investigative findings.”
