Teen gets head stuck in truck's exhaust pipe, then she's cited for underage drinking, of course
They say country songs are just about girls, trucks, and beer. But have these songs ever combined all three?
Introducing 19-year-old Kaitlyn Strom, the hero country music needs. She’s a girl, she’s drunk, and she was just freed from her own prison of a truck’s exhaust pipe.
Young Strom was enjoying her day at the Winstock Country Music Festival, in Minnesota, on Friday when the teen had a few beverages and thought it would be a good idea to explore the inside of a tailpipe.
Unfortunately, although her head did fit into the pipe, she was unable to pull it out, resulting in fire crews freeing her with an electric saw and this now-viral video on Facebook.
Of course, Strom was then cited for underage drinking after she was freed. That didn’t stop her good humor, however. She posted a picture of the experience on her own Facebook page.
If you’re asking yourself, “Kaitlyn … why?” (probably like her parents did), the answer is simple. She told the Hutchinson Leader, “We were just all having fun and I saw this big exhaust pipe, and I was like, ‘Hey, my head could probably fit in that,’ so I tried it. It did fit, but it didn’t want to come back out.”
She was stuck for 45 minutes.
“[I was] kind of confused because I didn’t know what was going on, because I couldn’t see around me,” she said. “But I trusted everyone who was around that I knew to get me out safely.”
Strom didn’t know the owner of the truck, but he was just happy that she turned out OK. He’s already fully fixed his exhaust pipe, and he said that she didn’t even have to pay for it.
The exhaust pipe was briefly on display at a local bar.
Ironically, the bar is called “Darwin Tavern.”
