Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Contains Terrifying Shredder

The next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is reintroducing an iconic villain, and he’s going to be terrifying.

That’s according to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem director Jeff Rowe. “The one thing I can say without spoiling anything,” Rowe tells Empire, “is [Shredder] needs to be 100 times scarier than Superfly – who is a credible villain. He’s dangerous, he’s strong, he seems like he could mess the Turtles up.”

Shredder is the leader of the dangerous Foot Clan and the foe most associated with the turtles, but Rowe wanted to hold something back for the sequel, instead going for Ice Cube’s Superfly as the latest movie’s primary antagonist

“Shredder used to be the main villain before we pivoted away from that. They saved Joker for The Dark Knight,” explains Rowe.

“It’ll be really interesting to see these fun-loving characters go up against something that maybe they can’t stop.”

So it seems the four young heroes in a half shell have their work cut out for them.
