Tehama County Arts Council offering grants
Tehama County residents, organizations and clubs are invited to apply for a one-time grant, not to exceed $500, for the opportunity of enriching the community through the arts, announced the Tehama County Arts Council.
The grant is funded through a partnership between the California Arts Council and Tehama County Arts Council. The state provides matching funds to grant funding raised by the local arts council.
Grant funding preference will be given to proposed projects impacting the greatest number of community residents, with “arts” in this application to include, but not limited to, visual, performing and written.
Grants requested to benefit schools, religious groups or to benefit one’s personal property or income will not be considered.
In 2023, the Tehama County Arts Council awarded small community grants of $500 to:
? Ballet Folklorico in Corning to provide pre-kindergarten through 12th grade summer camp and transportation funding to perform in other counties.
? Brandon Sebastian of Cottonwood for art supplies to teach free paint night party classes offered to community students.
? Tehama Creatives of Red Bluff to purchase kits to teach introduction to printmaking to children and how to make their own printing press and share their art in Pop-up art exhibits in the community.
? Quilt Culture of Red Bluff to purchase material to make aprons for the Aprons for Autism project for children and adults, for use when they are engaged in sensory activities.
Application forms are available online at www.tehamaarts.org, or can be picked up and returned to Tehama Arts, 328 Oak St., Red Bluff. The mailing address is TCAC, P.O. Box 1201, Red Bluff, CA, 96080. Application deadline is July 15 and must be postmarked on or previous to that date.
