Amazon Prime Day kicks off today, July 16, and runs through tomorrow, July 17. It's my favorite time of the year to save on exercise equipment and other fitness items. As a health writer with a background in exercise science, I buy all of my own exercise equipment at Amazon. Over the years, I've come to know what's a good price for a spin bike or dumbbells — and these are some seriously good deals.

Don't have room for a gym in your home? Snag a sleek walking pad you can slide under your bed when you're not using it or a mini elliptical you can pedal under your desk while sitting down, now on sale too. Take a look at these and more deals below — and remember, prices go back up once Prime Day is over.

The Sperax Walking pad is Amazon's No. 1 bestselling compact treadmill. It's only 4.6 inches high and 48 inches long, so you can slide it under your sofa or bed when you're not using it. It's also only 40 pounds, which is light enough that you can probably pull it out on your own but just heavy enough that you might sweat a little while doing so.

Keep in mind, this is really meant for walking, not jogging or running. It only goes up to about 3.8 mph, and it doesn't have handlebars to hold on to. You choose the speed with the included remote control, while an LED display on the top of the tread shows your speed, distance, time and even calories burned in real time. Also great: It has an anti-slip belt, as well as a strong damping system so you won't make too much noise.

Additionally, let's talk about this sale price. According to our records, this treadmill regularly retails for around $300 (not the stated two grand!). Still, with the on-page coupon, that brings the walking pad to nearly half off what you'd normally pay.

Looking for more ways to move while you work? This mini pedal exerciser will fit under your desk so you can work out while you check emails, call clients or even read about the best Amazon Prime Day exercise equipment deals!

It's not the most advanced or hardest piece of exercise equipment you’ll ever try, but it does the trick. The pedal resistance is robust — it has eight levels of resistance — and it has an LCD monitor to display time, stride and calories burned. Simply sit down, put your feet onto the anti-slip pedals and start moving.

According to our research, this is the lowest price the Cubii JR1+ Under Desk Elliptical has dropped to since last November. We recommend you buy it now, rather than waiting a year for the price to drop again.

If you're space-restricted or you prefer doing bodyweight exercises to heavy lifting, this core training exercise set is the perfect purchase. In addition to the heavy-duty ab wheel (which is designed to support up to 440 pounds), the set includes a knee mat, pushup bars, resistance bands and a length-adjustable jump rope. That means you can knock out your cardio, work on your core and add some resistance work to your routine, all for just $23 (with the Prime Day discount).

To be fair, the normal price for the set isn't much more — about $27 — but considering the price hasn't dipped this low in over a year, it doesn't hurt to score a set and save a few bucks while you're at it.

If you've been waiting to set up your garage gym, now just might be the time. With more than 10,000 ratings and an average of 4.7 stars, this squat rack power cage is the perfect way to start strength training at home. And with its 25% prime day discount, you'll be enjoying the best deal it's had in over a year.

Just remember, the cage by itself won't do you a whole lot of good. At a minimum, you'll need to buy a barbell and plate weights too. Fortunately, CAP — one of the leading brands in the industry — has a number of items on sale for Prime Day so you can score a deal on its economy bumper plates and Olympic barbells, too.

One piece of gym equipment that won't take up too much room and will always come in handy during a workout is a sturdy, adjustable bench. Plus, if you already have a squat rack or cage, an adjustable bench makes the perfect addition to expand your exercise repertoire.

This high-quality option from FLYBIRD offers three seat position adjustments, a wide range of incline and decline options and it even folds up to store. With an 800-pound weight capacity, it's sure to hold up to even your most challenging workouts.

At 44% off, it drops to just $112, it's lowest price ever, according to our research — a much better deal than its typical $200.

Score Amazon's No. 1 selling stationary bike on sale this Prime Day! It has a 35-pound flywheel and heavy steel frame that can support users up to 270 pounds and over 6 feet tall (comfortably up to a 35-inch inseam). Of course, the handlebars and seat height are adjustable to fit each rider. It uses a belt system that provides a smooth, quiet ride — so you can pedal in the morning without waking the rest of the family. And you don't need specific cycling shoes to ride — it has adjustable cage pedals for holding your feet in place.

It boasts a nonslip handlebar, padded seat, water bottle holder and an extensive range of resistance for building strength and endurance. An LCD monitor tracks time, speed, distance and calories burned, and it also comes with an iPad holder for listening to music, watching shows and movies or reading while riding.

You don't need to go all out with a Peloton if you want to spin at home. This bike is thousands less than the fitness brand's bike, but if you want, you could still get a Peloton subscription and stream the classes from your phone or tablet. But the fact that this one is also on sale (more than $60 off), and at its lowest price since last summer's Prime Day, makes it all the sweeter.

The NordicTrack’s T Series 5 Treadmill is no frills on the tech front, but for less than $500, it's a great machine for walking, jogging and running. It has a spot to put your own tablet so you can stream your favorite shows or on-demand iFIT workouts.

Your purchase comes with a 30-day iFIT Membership to stream live and on-demand classes. After the free trial, membership starts at $39 a month, but you don’t need it to use this treadmill.

The machine also has a 10% OneTouch incline control, a 10 miles per hour smart OneTouch speed control and flexible cushioning under the belt to offer a softer impact on joints and imitate a real road running experience.

Right now, at 24% off, this is the lowest price on the web for this tread, and the lowest price in months at Amazon. Plus, the fact that it's a NordicTrack — a trusted treadmill brand — makes the deal even better.

CrossFitters, take note! This AssaultRunner Pro treadmill is on sale for Prime Day ... and this brand is never on sale. For 15% off you can score this manual treadmill (that means it doesn't require electricity) for about $2,550. No one's saying that's a cheap buy, of course, but it sure beats the typical $3,000 price tag.

Plus, because it's athlete-powered and requires no electricity, you can use it indoors or outdoors. For someone like me who has limited indoor space, but lots of extra patio space, it's the perfect high-intensity home cardio machine for those days when I can't hit the actual pavement.

$2,549 at Amazon

If you're in the market for a high-end piece of home cardio equipment, it might be time to bite the bullet on this Hydrow Pro rowing machine. Not only does it have a massive 22-inch immersive screen that rotates so you can follow trainer-led workouts on or off the rower, but it stows upright, taking up to no floor space when it's not in use.

While the Prime Day price of $1,735 still isn't cheap, it's the best deal the brand has ever offered, making it worth a hard look. Just remember you'll also need to pay for a monthly membership to access Hydrow's more than 4,000 athlete and trainer-led classes.

$1,735 at Amazon

For a lower-impact home cardio workout, elliptical machines are a great choice, and this simple option from Merach is on sale for the first time ever. You can land the 20%-off Prime Day deal, then add to the savings by using the $20 instant coupon.

While the machine itself is relatively low-frills, it's Bluetooth enabled and has a phone or tablet holder so you can follow along to workouts from popular apps and programs. It also comes 80% assembled in the box, so finishing the set up at home is a simple and straightforward process.

There's no need to buy a whole slew of kettlebells if you can purchase a single, adjustable version instead. This kettlebell from Victor Fitness features six removable weight plates that enable you to match the resistance of the kettlebell to the exercise you're performing. So whether you need to drop the resistance to 10 pounds to knock out a few sets of lateral shoulder raises, or you want to amp up the resistance to 40 pounds to perform a series of kettlebell swings, this weight can do it all.

For Prime Day, Victor Fitness is offering this tool for 27% off, dropping its typical $110 price down to $80. That's less than $2 per pound for the full 40-pound weight (dumbbells and kettlebells typically range from $1.50 to $5 per pound), but considering that you're essentially getting seven kettlebells for the price of one, that's a really good deal. Plus, it's the best deal ever offered for the product, so you should grab it while you can.

Need help with your squat form? The Row-N-Ride Trainer can help. Place your feet on the pedals, sit your butt on the padded seat, and hold onto the handlebar while you bend your knees like you’re sitting in a chair. Then, use your glutes, legs, core and arms to pull you back upright. The seat and handlebars are adjustable to your height, and you can adjust the seat angle as well. Squat all the way down, or if you want to go easier on your knees, adjust the seat to stop at a higher angle. There are also three resistance bands you can add to increase intensity.

You can track your progress with a small digital monitor that shows your time, squat count and calories burned. When not in use, the machine folds flat for storing away in a closet or under the sofa.

Right now, you can also get this baby for 30% off, saving you $45 and bringing it down to less than 90 bucks.

If you're getting serious about training your glutes (they are the powerhouse of your body, after all), it may be time to add a hip thrust machine to your home gym. This one from UKIA comes with a padded backrest, an adjustable footrest and seven resistance bands that can be used individually or in combination to take your glute workout to the next level. Normally $140, it's on sale for Prime Day at 32% off, dropping the price below $100 — it's best price to date.

Rebounding comes in and out of fashion, but the health benefits are real — jumping on a trampoline is a low-impact, high intensity form of exercise that's actually fun, too. If you're looking for a way to change up your home fitness routine, it might be worth adding a rebounder to your gym.

This one from Ieikefitness offers a 50-inch frame and handlebars for added balance. Typically priced at $170, you can get it for 29% off on Prime Day, dropping the price to $120 — the best price it's had this year.

$120 at Amazon

Every home gym should have at least one multi-purpose medicine ball that can be used for catching, throwing and performing a number of bodyweight exercises like squats or carries. This 20-pound ball from Champion Sports is available for its lowest price in over a year, just under $50.

The other weights are also available at a discount, but the amounts vary widely. This 20-pound ball has the best deal overall.

$49 at Amazon

It's easy to knock out a set of pushups at home without any equipment, but it's not as easy to target your back with a set of pullups unless you have some type of bar available. This doorway-mounted bar is easy to use and takes up next to no space. And today it's available at a 15% discount, bringing the price down to just over $25.

$25 at Amazon

If you have Amazon Prime, you’ll get free shipping, of course. Not yet a member? No problem. You can sign up for your free 30-day trial here. (And by the way, those without Prime still get free shipping on orders of $25 or more.)
