There's Some Freaky Evidence That Sansa And Arya Stark Might Die In 'Game Of Thrones' And OMG I Am Unwell
Fans think they found evidence Sansa Stark and Arya Stark die in the final season of Game of Thrones.
Season eight premieres on Sunday, April 14.
Considering the final season of Game of Thrones premieres in a mere 24 days, it's the perfect time to pore over every single tiny detail in the hopes of figuring out if Daenerys Targaryen is Azor Ahai reborn and will save everyone, if her dragons kill the ice dragon, and if your favorite characters will die because HBO likes to watch us suffer. Speaking of favorite characters, some fans have a theory that Sansa Stark and Arya Stark will die by the end of the season, and the evidence is so convincing it's upsetting.
Back in January, HBO released a teaser trailer for the upcoming season that showed siblings Jon Snow, Sansa, and Arya in the crypts of Winterfell where statues of their dead relatives stand. In the trailer, you can see Sansa and Arya's mom Catelyn Stark's statue and hear her say, "All this horror that has come to my family."
Then, Jon, Sansa, and Arya turn around and see statues of themselves, which is textbook foreshadowing. While that could mean they're just going to die in general, fans noticed Sansa and Arya's statues look different than Jon's. If you look closely, you can see that the sisters' are modeled to look the same age they are now, and Jon's looks like an older version of himself. Basically, this could mean that Sansa and Arya have a great skincare routine or they will die really soon, and Jon will live on to middle age. If this is turns out to be true and the Stark sisters die, we're going to need to have a little chat with HBO.
And to further stress you out about Sansa's potential death, fans on Reddit also think the way she greets Daenerys in the season eight trailer is way too similar to how Ned Stark greeted Robert Baratheon when he came to Winterfell in season one.
You might remember when Robert showed up, Ned said, "Winterfell is yours." Shortly after, Ned got his head chopped off and things went downhill for the Starks. In one of this season's trailers, when Sansa sees Dany, she says, "Winterfell is yours, your grace."
*Internal screaming.*
You're totally forgiven if you've just been sent into a full-on freak out about the possibility of Sansa dying because she is truly the most deserving of the throne after all she's been through. And if not the throne, she at least deserves to stay alive.
Anyway, that's a really effed-up theory that's floating around about Sansa and Arya, so let's pretend like it doesn't exist and pray to the Lord of Light that they survive!
