This Thing Just Washed Up on an Australian Shore

"A monster fish" was found on the shore of a Queensland, Australia, beach on Thursday. Authorities have not yet been able to identify what exactly the 330-ish pound, 6-ish foot creature is, ABC News reports.

Riley and John Lindholm were the first to discover the thing on a walk on the beach: "I've seen a lot of fish, and a lot of big fish, but I've never seen anything like it," John said. "It was a big, big fish."

He posted pictures and videos of it to social media in an attempt to identify it, and it quickly went viral, prompting plenty of Shape of Water and alien jokes.
