Things to do: Hop on your boat for the Riverfest to help preserve the mighty Muskingum

Join the Muskingum Riverway Advocacy Council for its eighth annual Riverfest. The annual event raises money to continue their mission to monitor, preserve, protect and promote the economic, historic and recreational assets of the Muskingum River. The event is scheduled to run from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 13. There will be a DJ spinning tunes, a 50/50, raffles and a chance auction. The event will be held at the Muskingum Valley Boating Association, 2400 Boat Dock Road in Zanesville. There will be a dock master to assist with water traffic and docking. Farmers market

Grab your reusable shopping bags and head to the Blue Ribbon Farmers Market. The market will be held weekly from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays through Sept. 28. Head down and pick up some produce, plants, and lunch while you’re there. Photo exhibit

Take a photographic journey through the development and reincarnation of Historic Roscoe Village with a special photo exhibit. View photos dating from the late 1800s and early 1900s along with photos of the 1970s restoration. The exhibit will run from July until December 31st at the Johnson – Humrickhouse Museum. Prints of the photos on display will be available for purchase during the show. The Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum is located in Historic Roscoe Village at 300 N. Whitewoman St. in Coshocton. Family fun day

The Muskingum Valley Council Boy Scouts of America will host a free family fun day at 6 p.m. on Thursday at council headquarters. There will be food, crafts, activities, a flag retirement ceremony, and more. According to the event page, "Come visit the scout office in Zanesville and bring the whole family. Enjoy the activities and end the night by watching the Zanesville Fireworks from the best view around." The event is scheduled to run from 6 p.m. until after the Stars and Strips on the River. Fireworks festival

If you just can't get enough of those sparkling displays, head north to the Gnadenhutten Fireworks Festival. The event runs from 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday at the Gnadenhutten Town Square. With food vendors, a parade, a car show, a baby contest, a pet parade, a midway, and live music, what more could you ask for?
