Things to do in Kansas City this weekend June 28-30
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — No matter what part of the Kansas City area you live in, it looks like there’s a fireworks show, live music or family-friendly event going on this weekend.
Here are 12 events going on this weekend — June 28 through June 30 — that are worth checking out.
Country fans fill up Azura, Country Stampede’s first KC area edition

Country Stampede
Country Stampede will be at the Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs from June 27–29. This is the first time the concert event will be hosted at the Azura Amphitheater. This is the 28th year of the Country Stampede.
The lineup includes Jon Pardi, Riley Green, Chris Janson, Billy Currington, Randy Houser, LOCASH, Jackson Dean, Dillon Carmichael, Drew Green, Neon Union and more.
Bonner Blast
Get in the holiday spirit early at the annual Bonner Blast event. Enjoy dinner from a local food truck. City Band will perform at 8:30 p.m. before fireworks take off at about 9:30 p.m. Make sure to bring your lawn chair or blanket.
PARKED! Fireworks in Shawnee
The annual Parked event kicks off July 4th weekend celebrations in Shawnee at Stump Park. The festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. with different food trucks to choose from, a live band, vendors, activities for children, and sprinklers in the fields before ending the night with a full fireworks display around 9:30 p.m.

Kansas City Current vs. Houston Dash
The Kansas City Current will face the Houston Dash on Friday at CPKC Stadium. The match begins at 7 p.m.
It will be Women’s Cancer Awareness night at the Stadium. Tickets start at $24.
Raymore’s Spirit of America Celebration
Find food trucks, kids activities, live music and more at Raymore’s Spirit of America Celebration to kick off the holiday weekend. The event starts at 6 p.m. and fireworks start just after dusk, around 9:15-9:25 p.m. Admission is free.
Paw-triotic Pet Parade
Celebrate the Independence Day holiday with this festive, pet-friendly celebration, featuring strutting mutts in costume, pop-up vendors selling pet-related products and treats for humans and dogs alike. Parade begins at 11 a.m. Saturday
Feel free to bring your dog to enjoy this special event outdoors. Dogs must remain outside the Lenexa Public Market unless they are certified service/support animals.

Kids Tech Day
Kids Tech Day is the perfect opportunity for young people to explore their passions and develop their skills. The event is at the Kansas City Convention Center on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be a variety of hands-on activities and interactive workshops that are designed to inspire creativity, foster critical thinking, and encourage collaboration. The activities focus on cutting-edge technology and real-world problem-solving.
Chiefs Pro Shop Locker Room Sale
On Friday and Saturday, the Chiefs Pro Shop will hold a “Locker Room Sale” at the Pavilion, located on the south side of Arrowhead Stadium. The sale is open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday. You can park in Lot D.
Here are some of the items you could bring home: Player-worn jerseys, towels, polo shirts, team-issued t-shirts, cleats and more.
Sporting KC vs. Austin FC
Sporting Kansas City will face Austin FC on Saturday at Children’s Mercy Park. The match begins at 7:30 p.m.

Parker McCollum with Corey Kent at Starlight
Upcoming country singer Parker McCollum is making his “Burn It Down Tour” stop in Kansas City this weekend. in 2024, he will make a stop at the Starlight Theatre on Saturday.
He will be joined by special guest, Corey Kent. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be found for as low as $23.
Royals Fireworks Friday & Bo Jackson Night
The Kansas City Royals will face the Cleveland Guardians this weekend at Kaufman Stadium. The game on Friday starts at 7:10 p.m. There will be fireworks following the game.
