This Cult Men’s Clothing Line Just Added Women’s Sizes
It’s been more than a year since Jerry Lorenzo, the founder and creative director of the cult-favorite streetwear line Fear of God, launched a collection. Today, he debuts his newest collection — the label’s fifth — featuring 96 different looks. And from the looks of it, it appears to be well worth the wait, and includes a few surprises as well.
Fear of God’s fifth collection will include for the first time size extra small and shoes in women’s sizes. The addition of smaller apparel and women’s shoe sizes is a nod to the fact that not just men wear these clothes — plenty of women love the line too and can now get the borrowed-from-the-boys look in a slightly more fitted proportion.
Of course, anyone following the celeb fans of the brand won’t be surprised to hear it was a hit with women as well as men. The streetwear brand has been spotted on a plethora of celebrities, including Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Travis Scott, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez, and more.
And that move toward gender neutrality isn’t all Fear of God has going for it in terms of diversity — the collection’s campaign features models of all colors, something that was important to Lorenzo.
Take a look below to get a glimpse of the highly anticipated collection.
The collection is heavily influenced by sports, stemming from Lorenzo’s own athletic endeavors as a teenager and his father’s time as an MLB player and manager. As a whole, the sports influence is heavily visible in the collection’s jerseys featuring the Fear of God logo emblazoned across the chest, crewneck sweatshirts, jersey shorts, hoodies, and more. However, the streetwear aesthetic is still interlaced within the athletic attire, pairing plaid pants with a cotton sweatshirt or a black bomber jacket with fleece pants.
Take a look at the collection’s campaign video above to get a better sense of Lorenzo’s vision and inspiration for his fifth collection. Parts of the video showcasing Lorenzo’s collection were shot at his grandmother’s home and feature her furniture — in honor of his grandmother, who recently passed away.
