This Snapchat Puppy Filter Halloween Makeup Is Way Cuter Than a Selfie

We never really considered Snapchat filters as Halloween makeup until we saw models sporting puppy-dog and fawn makeup backstage at the Desigual spring 2017 runway show. The playful looks seemed so lifelike that we had to beg Make Up For Ever pro artist Ruben Garcia for a tutorial.
Keep reading to see how he transformed Yahoo Beauty assistant editor Devon Kelley into an adorable Snapchat puppy filter.
Step 1: Apply a base
Prep skin with Skin Equalizer Nourishing Primer to stave off dryness. Even out complexion with Ultra HD Invisible Cover Concealer, and then add warmth to cheeks with Ultra HD Stick Foundation in 230. Finish base makeup with Mist & Fix Setting Spray.
Step 2: Make brows pop
Add definition to brows by using a small angled brush and Aqua Brow Waterproof Eyebrow Corrector.
Pro tip: Start off with a small amount of brow pigment and apply with swift, feather-like strokes.
Step 3: Outline snout
Garcia created the outline for the Snapchat puppy filter snout with Aqua XL Waterproof Eye Pencil in M60 (a matte dark brown).
Step 4: Add shadows
Fill in the outline of the snout with Artist Shadow Eyeshadow and Powder Blush in 656 (a matte cookie). Then add depth to nostril by brushing on a chestnut shade, focusing on the center.
Enhance the shadows with matte chalk white and black eyeshadows. Then use the same dark brown eyeliner pencil to create freckles. Twist your locks up into two hair buns to mimic dog ears and you’ll be the cutest pup at the Halloween party!
