Thomas Markle Accuses Daughter of Withholding Grandchildren
In a recent interview with "Good Morning Britain," Thomas Markle asserted that his daughter Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, are keeping their grandchildren from him without good reason.
Thomas told the hosts, "I’m very upset about it as well because this is a cruel thing to do to a grandparent...To deny the right to see their grandchild."
He added, "The other thing is, I’ve done nothing wrong. There’s nothing that points to say I’m a bad guy. I’m a really loving father and she knows that, and there’s no excuse for treating me this way—no excuse to treat grandparents that way." (He also claims the Duke and Duchess are keeping the kids from King Charles.)
Harry and Meghan share two children, Archie and Lillibet. To date, it appears that the little ones have not met their maternal grandfather at all.
Thomas also spoke about how he believes his daughter has changed. "She's not the person I knew as my daughter," he said. As for whether he blames Harry for that, he says he's not sure, but that he suspects "she has an influence on Harry more than he does on her."

Meghan and her father had a falling out in 2018 ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry. Thomas staged photos with the paparazzi, a charge he first denied and ultimately owned up to. He reportedly suffered a heart attack in the days leading up to the wedding, and a then Prince Charles ultimately walked Meghan down the aisle.

Meghan eventually addressed what happened with her father. She told Oprah of her parents, "I did everything I could to protect both of them in that media frenzy...the tabloids...they moved in to the apartment next door and across from him, descended on this small town, giving him gifts...the whole thing brings us to where we are today."

She added that her father's denial of the paparazzi photos was what hurt the most, not the actual photos themselves. Meghan concluded, "I look at Archie...and I genuinely can't imagine doing anything to intentionally cause pain to my child."
