Thousands of Fans Held an Emotional Vigil for Mac Miller at Blue Slide Park
Five days after rapper Mac Miller, 26, passed away, thousands of fans held a vigil in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at Blue Slide Park, which he named his debut album after.
Nightfall Records, the local record label who organized the vigil, expressed Miller deserved a night that paid tribute to him. On Facebook, they wrote, "Mac deserves to be sent off with an evening of celebrating his life, discussing his struggles, and remembering his stories; most importantly for his iconic work that brought joy into the lives of everybody who listened."
Before the vigil, people passed around a petition to name the park after Miller and the Pittsburgh Public Works department put a fresh coat of blue paint on the slide where Miller used to play as a child.
