Nothing makes you feel quite as glamorous as great new ‘do. A perfect mane makes you feel like your best self in a way that nothing else can — but for many of us there just aren’t enough hours in the day.
Yahoo Entertainment host Kylie Mar is an expert on creating perfect loose waves without slowing down her morning routine, and she has a few easy tips to help you get that beachy feeling in as little time as possible.
Loose, tousled waves are the perfect everyday look to make you feel polished and put together without looking overdone. Kylie shared exactly what products she uses to get her perfectly rumpled, effortless waves and spoiler alert: It’s just three products!
Invest in the best dry shampoo
To achieve the iconic look, you need to start with a fresh base. Combat oily roots and flat hair with a great dry shampoo. Kylie likes to use Klorane Dry Shampoo with Nettle, which is formulated to improve hair growth, shine and overall health.
“This one has this really cool feeling and it’s because of the nettle that’s inside of it and it makes your hair actually feel cool and clean and soft, and it doesn’t feel dirty at all,” says Kylie. “Before I start curling my hair I’ll just spray a little onto the root, and it doesn’t look white at all.” She also gives her roots a second blast of the product once she’s finished curling. “And it looks like I washed my hair today, that’s why dry shampoo is the most amazing thing.”

Choose a non-damaging curling wand
Be sure to protect your hair by using a ceramic curling wand that distributes heat evenly. Kylie’s pick is the T3 SinglePass Curling Iron.
“It’s the best curling iron ever,” she says. “It makes your hair shiny and stays healthy. It doesn’t burn or dry out your hair when you use it.”
Kylie begins by curling face-framing pieces of hair away from her face. Then she moves to the back of her head and alternates the direction of the curls. “I’ve gotten to the back part of my hair now so this is where I start switching the angles from curling away and then curling towards,” says Kylie. “You want the pieces to stay separate so you change the direction while you’re curling your hair.”

Use a curl-defining product
Kylie likes to spruce up her curls by alternating between two cult favorite products. “Right now I’m loving this brand called Ouai. It’s by Jen Atkin, who’s done a lot of the Kardashians’ hair,” says Kylie.
She uses Ouai Volumizing Hair Spray at the root for a touch of drama, and Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray in her curls to separate each wave. “It singles out the curls a little bit more and gives it a little bit more texture by separating the curls so that way they don’t blend together. That’s all I do, it’s really easy,” says Kylie. “You guys, I swear by these products, I use them every day.”
