If you’re anything like me, you grew up watching Twitches and Sister, Sister gleefully on Disney Channel, and then truly wondered where the time went when she became a mother of two. Speaking of motherhood, Mowry has seen it all, from the terrible twos to those blowouts that haunt parents everywhere.

But to help new parents, and parents who dread even the word “blowout,” she’s partnering with Pampers to promote Pampers Swaddlers with the new Blowout Barrier that she calls “life-changing,” and from the sounds of it, she’s not exaggerating in the slightest.

According to a national survey from Pampers, around 4 in 10 parents have “actively avoided going to certain places due to fear of a potential blowout.” And Mowry was quick to talk about “the number one tip” she has for new parents.

Her tip? Grabbing those Pampers Swaddlers.

“They have a new blowout barrier diaper that really helps solve those blowouts and those fears. Giving parents one less thing to worry about and have, you know, some sort of peace of mind,” she said. “They actually help prevent up to 100 percent of leaks and blowouts. These diapers are life-changing. It’s definitely something all parents and moms should know about.”

Mowry is no stranger to blowouts. Her now-12-year-old son Cree was three months old when he subjected his mom to one of the most memorable blowouts ever — while eating with him on the patio at a restaurant. She recounted the tale of the adorable outfit he was in, and how a blowout got everywhere. Talk about a crappy situation!

“I just love dressing my kids up. And so he was just really, really cute. And I remember he had this massive blowout, and of course, the outfit was completely ruined,” she said. “He had stuff all over him. There was stuff all over me, all over his clothes. Everything that was in the diaper was now out of the diaper. And the only place that I could go change him was the changing room that was through the restaurant.”

“And I was like, ‘Ugh, I don’t know if this is a great idea. So let me just go ahead and change him there on the patio,’” she added.

Unless you’re a parent, it’s hard to wrap your head around the stress, fear, and quick thinking that comes with dealing with a blowout — especially in public. When I asked Mowry what she wished that people who don’t have kids would understand, she replied that it would be the random nature of these diaper catastrophes: “It is something that you cannot predict.”

“And I think that’s why so many parents are so fearful,” she said, quickly referring to the Pampers survey that showed “there are 13 million blowouts in one week in the US alone. So, it is something that will definitely happen; like it will happen. You just don’t know when!”

She added, “You can’t predict these things. It just happens. So why not just be [as] prepared as you possibly can be, you know, with having these amazing Pampers Swaddlers new blowout barrier diapers. It’ll save your life!”

With fall around the corner, we couldn’t help but ask what she and her two kids Cree, 12, and Cairo, 5, have in store for the spooky season.

Along with “creating the atmosphere to feel like the holiday,” she “always” lets her children pick what Halloween costumes and themes they want!

“I always give my children a choice on what they wanna be for Halloween, and then I work around them. So I asked Cree and Cairo what they wanna be for Halloween. And then Cree, he was like, ‘Mom, I wanna be an alien. And I’m like, okay, well then guess what? We’re all gonna be aliens,’” she gushed.

And she’s not the only one who adores Halloween — it’s her daughter’s favorite holiday!

“My daughter’s five and I’m now starting to see how she wants to do things that mommy does,” Mowry gleefully said. She’s seen Cairo “start putting on my high heels” and “putting my hair extensions in her hair.” And now? She’s doing makeup!

“At the end of it, she literally had white and around her eyes and it was all black around her face,” she added. “And I was like, ‘Oh my girl! What did you do?’ And then lo and behold, she basically was making herself look like a skeleton.”

After the past few tumultuous years, and having recently returned from her solo “self-love, self-care journey to Europe,” Mowry realizes that life can be crazy, and sometimes scary (especially as a parent). But through all the ups and downs (and blowouts!), she can rely on one fact that keeps her going: “Everything will be okay.”
