The number of women proudly embracing their gray hair on social media just keeps growing, and we can’t say we’re mad about it. In addition to celebs like Jane Fonda and Andie MacDowell, the latest in the lineup is Tia Mowry, who showed off her silver roots in her latest Instagram selfie.

“Hey girl hey, #grey hair don’t care. Swipe left for the #outfit reveal! ??” she captioned the post. In the photo, the 43-year-old posed for the camera while wearing elegant gold hoops, layered gold necklaces, and a low-cut black jumpsuit. The second photo revealed a full-body shot in which she showed off her shoes—a pair of black, strappy wedge heels.

Gray hair aside, she looked amazing—but followers loved the sophisticated touch brought by her salt-and-pepper strands. “It’s the natural for me ????,” one person commented. “Love the gray??,” another added. “Silver fox??????,”someone else wrote.

The actress embarked on a natural hair journey at the start of 2020, when she chopped her hair short while keeping some grays. “It was time!” she captioned the reveal. In honor of her 43rd birthday, Mowry shared a selfie in which gray wispy hairs feathered from her braids. “Time comes at you fast! Do what #love NOW! It’s never too late. Don’t waste your time on things that don’t matter. Practice #selflove and #selfcare!” she wrote.

In June, the Sister, Sister star shared a gallery of her hair’s progress, the last photo picturing her rocking a full afro. “How it started VS How it’s going!” she captioned the post.

It’s pretty apparent that the power of grays aren’t going away anytime soon—likely because the shift has been empowering and liberating for many, including Groundhog Day star MacDowell, 63, who recently stepped out at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival flaunting voluminous, curly gray tresses.

The actress told Vogue that her managers thought it was too early for the transition, but she felt otherwise and went with her gut. “I said, ‘I think you’re wrong, and I’m going to be more powerful if I embrace where I am right now. It’s time because in two years I’m going to be 65,’” she explained. “‘If I don’t do it now, I won’t have the chance to be salt and pepper. I always wanted to be salt and pepper!’”

It’s only a matter of time before the next Hollywood queen decides to take the leap.
