Like many people, I spend far too much time mindlessly scrolling on my phone when I know my time could be spent better. Ironically, I was going through TikTok one day when I stumbled upon a video of @thekanoodlequeen playing Kanoodle by Educational Insights that instantly intrigued me.
Although the creator’s page is primarily dedicated to attempting various challenges, a single video featuring the brain teaser has over 8 million views. The popular game is a no.1 bestseller at Amazon with nearly 16,000 five-star ratings as well.
As someone who’s not a fan of difficult puzzles, I gravitated toward Kanoodle because the rules are simple, and you can customize them to be as challenging as you want. A puzzle can take anywhere from 30 seconds to several minutes to complete.

Each set includes a handheld board, 12 unique pieces and a rulebook filled with hundreds of puzzle prompts. The game’s difficulty ranges from level one, designed for small children, up to level six for advanced players. A second playing board is on the back for building a 3D pyramid. The best part is there are multiple solutions to the same puzzle, so it encourages you to think outside the box.
Follow one of the hundreds of prompts to start a puzzle, or follow suit with TikTok creators who choose one piece, shake it inside the box and see where it lands. Then, you try to fit all the other pieces in the slots that are left until it forms a perfect rectangle again. I personally prefer to do the one-piece challenges.
Playing this game takes my mind off everything because I’m so focused, and it provides hours of entertainment. I’ve also noticed that after completing a few puzzles, my stress and anxiety levels are dramatically reduced. I take the compact game everywhere I go and even bought a second set for my husband. Now we can try to complete the same puzzles and see who finishes first as a fun date-night activity.
I love Kanoodle so much that I would pay full price for it, but the fact that it’s on sale for just $10 at Amazon is a steal. It also makes for a great gift. I suggest adding one to your cart sooner rather than later because it has sold out in the past.
