Many of us remember The Time Traveler's Wife, a 2003 novel by Audrey Niffenegger which was later adapted into a movie starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana in 2009.
Well, HBO recently announced they're going to adapt their version of the novel into a series, which is set to premiere later this spring. This version, adapted by Steven Moffat, stars Rose Leslie and Theo James (!!!!), and Desmin Borges and Natasha Lopez in supporting roles.
When asked what made this adaptation different from the original, Moffat said, “We can tell the whole story, the movie was a quite intelligently abbreviated version, but abbreviating it, you miss all the detail and complexity and make it all about the time travel and not about the love story.”
The book follows Henry DeTamble, a librarian who accidentally travels through time and as a result meets Clare Abshire, an artist. What follows is a romantic affair that tests the strength of love.
And because we love a good adaptation tease, here are a few photos that HBO recently released!
